Every single week at our Technology & Gaming Centre, we meet gamers who have been left out of the digital world simply because of how standard hardware is built.

Our fix?

We custom-build and configure accessible controller setups tailored to the unique strengths of every individual. Whether that means utilising the Xbox Adaptive Controller with a network of personalised switches, shifting controls to head movements, or engineering a toggle switch for a single joystick—we map the tech to the gamer, not the other way around.

The work we do breaks down social barriers, allowing disabled people with mixed abilities to enjoy playing together, improving mental wellbeing and confidence.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re celebrating the intersection of accessibility and well-being. When technology is designed with disabled people in mind, it doesn't just provide "access"—it provides autonomy, connection, and the mental peace that comes with independence.

“I enjoy getting up and knowing that I’m coming here.” 💙

Eight months ago, Reece walked through our doors unsure of what was next. His routine was broken, his confidence low, and like so many people, he was feeling isolated.

Today, he’s not only part of the community, he’s volunteering, connecting, and rebuilding his confidence step by step.

At Everyone Can, it’s not just about gaming. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe, supported, and able to be themselves. Whether it’s playing games, having a chat, or simply being around others, that sense of belonging can be life changing.

Because neither disability or anxiety shouldn’t mean disconnection.

💬 “You don’t even have to game… you can just talk to people.”

That’s the power of inclusive spaces. If you believe in creating opportunities like this for more people, you can be part of it.

Seeing Abdi come through our doors each week reminds us why this matters 💙

For the past four years, Everyone Can has been more than just a place to play games for Abdi — it’s been a place to connect, belong, and build friendships.

Through gaming, Abdi gets to spend time with people he might not usually meet, share experiences, and simply have fun in a space where he feels included.

For many disabled children and young people, opportunities to socialise can be limited — especially in environments that truly understand and support their needs. That’s where accessible gaming changes everything.

🎮 It creates connection
🎮 It builds confidence
🎮 It brings people together

Because disability shouldn’t mean disconnection.

If you’re a parent or carer looking for a safe, supportive space where your child can make friends and thrive — we’d love to welcome you.

🎮 “When I come here, I can connect with people who like the same things as me…”

Meet Lucas.

Lucas has been coming to Everyone Can for four years. Before finding us, other activities felt overwhelming and isolating. But here, through gaming, he’s found something powerful — connection, confidence, and a place where he belongs.

For many young people like Lucas, it’s not just about playing games…
It’s about finding your people. 💙

Because disability shouldn’t mean disconnection.

At Everyone Can, we create spaces where everyone can connect, play, and thrive — using adapted technology and inclusive gaming to open up new opportunities every day.

For the past six years, I’ve been working in the women in tech space. I actually ended up in tech by accident.. but once I was there, I became really passionate about encouraging other women into what is still a very male dominated industry.

I’ve spent a lot of time in schools and colleges, running tech events and roadshows.
And no matter how inclusive we tried to make them… the outcome was always the same.

About 80% boys.
20% girls.

And if you look at that long enough, you start to wonder… Are girls just not interested in technology? But that never sat right with me. I’m a woman. I know women. It didn’t make sense to me. I’ve always had a theory that gaming is intrinsically linked to careers in tech. From what I’ve seen, a lot of boys who love gaming eventually think, “I want to design games when I grow up.” But what if girls don’t game often enough or for long enough to ever have that thought?

What if the seed just never gets planted?

This year, thanks to the generosity of the High Lee House Trust, Everyone Can ran a pilot of three girls-only gaming sessions.

And I’m so excited to say… This is no longer just a theory. We’ve collected some really powerful data.

The girls we worked with?
They are gamers.
They game daily.
They love it.
They want to keep doing it as adults.

The issue isn’t interest.
It’s access.
It’s environment.
It’s confidence.
It’s belonging.

I don’t usually make a big fuss about International Women’s Day as it can sometimes feel a bit corporate and tick-boxy. This year feels different.
Because we’re talking about early access. Confidence. And changing the pipeline before it narrows.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be sharing what we’ve learned on the Everyone Can LinkedIn page. If this conversation interests you — please give it a follow.

Is Everyone Can for you? Here's one of many feedback quotes we've received:
“My son has found it to be an
inclusive space where he can be
himself without judgment. This has
made him more confident within this
environment. Fantastic! My son has
communication difficulties and
finds it hard to make friends. The
friends he has made are due to a
common interest (gaming) in a safe,
inclusive environment. Everyone
Can Are amazing at supporting
children with disabilities, making
them feel happy and safe while
doing something they enjoy
together. It also gives parents
time to chat and support each
other by sharing parenting skills,
as having a child with disabilities
can be hard work and can also be
challenging.”

The girl gaming sessions were filled with laughter, teamwork and new friendships! Seeing the girls explore adapted tech, try VR, collaborate, compete, and most importantly belong in a space designed just for them was incredibly special.
To every girl who showed up with courage and curiosity — thank you for bringing your energy and brilliance. To the parents and carers who support them, thank you for trusting us. To our amazing staff and volunteers, thank you for making it safe, accessible and full of encouragement. A huge thank you to everyone who continues to believe that disability should never mean disconnection. We're so proud of this community. Hopefully more to come…
