Sunday Shout Out to

I'll let them describe themselves in their own words from their website;

"Take a minute to see past the crazy coloured hair, face piercings, and tattoos.

We give a s!*t.

The vibe? Skulls, keys, guitars on the walls, and badass statements everywhere you look.

It’s not just about a loud attitude—it’s about ripping the intimidation out of going to a salon.

We’re not here to churn out cookie-cutter cuts.

We’re here to create your style—because it’s all about you.

Upstairs, we’ve got a private space for when you need to feel totally at ease. Whether you’re neurodiverse, wear a hijab, or just want a little breathing room, we’ve got you. Not into small talk? We offer silent services. Hate looking in the mirror? We’ll keep it covered with our mirrorless service.

We’re open, raw, and unapologetically real. We respect EVERY walk of life, and we say it like it is.

We ain’t no production line."

They are also tier 2 B***S Approved and offer B***S card holders 10% off all treatments 🎉

Whenever feeding a baby from a bottle you should use a technique called paced bottle feeding, this includes if you fully formula feed;

Hold your baby upright, close to your body. (If your baby is lying back, they are less able to control how much milk they swallow, so they can overfeed.)
Touch the teat against the baby’s top lip to encourage them to pull it into their mouth.
Hold the bottle horizontal, so that when the baby is actively sucking, they get milk and when the baby is pausing, they don’t get milk.
Give the baby several breaks by removing the bottle from their mouth.
Watch what the baby is doing, rather than how much milk they have drunk. End the feed when the baby is no longer drinking.
This all helps to build and maintain a close, loving relationship, a responsive feeding relationship, and avoids overfeeding your baby. It can also help to avoid your baby from gaining a bottle preference as it means they still have to work for the milk.

September is NICU Awareness Month and honours NICU patients past and present, the parents and siblings who live through a NICU stay, and the neonatologists, neonatal nurses, and support staff who provide round-the-clock care.

It was established in 2014 by the non-profit organisation Project Sweet Peas, a volunteer-led charity founded by parents who had personal experience of intensive care for their own babies.

The aim is to bring the wider NICU community together and to make families feel less alone.

We are here to support all breastfeeding families, please reach out if you need support to breastfeed your child in NICU or establish breastfeeding after a NICU stay.

Sustainable Development Goal 17 is “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development.”

The Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding (GSIYCF) foster multi-sectoral collaboration, and can build upon various partnerships for support of development through breastfeeding programmes and initiatives.

Here at B***S we love to work with businesses and venues to ensure breastfeeding is protected and promoted. We also collaborate with other local breastfeeding related businesses and groups to ensure all families have access to the right support.
