ASN FAMILIES – WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

There is significant investment coming into our local communities through Pride in Place – and our ASN children and young people must not be forgotten when decisions are being made.

We are concerned that the event may not be well attended, which makes it even more important that the voices of ASN families are heard. Please make every effort to attend the Town Hall on 8th October, 5pm–7pm and tell them what YOUR children and young people need.

What would make a difference?
Accessible play and outdoor spaces? Safe places to meet? Activities for teenagers and young adults? Changing facilities? Sensory spaces? Somewhere they genuinely feel they belong?

If we don’t speak up, their needs can too easily be overlooked.

Our ASN children and young people deserve to be part of the future of their communities. Let’s make sure their voices are heard.

❤️ Learning skills that could save a life! ❤️

Our Ayr staff had the opportunity to attend Heartstart training, gaining valuable practical experience in emergency lifesaving skills.

Heartstart is a local charity that teaches people basic skills to help save someone’s life during a cardiac arrest.

The hands-on training gave our team the chance to practise these vital skills and build their confidence in responding to an emergency. At KO-NEKT, we are committed to continuous learning and supporting our staff to provide safe, compassionate care for the children and young people we work with.

A huge thank you to Heartstart and your fantastic instructors for such an engaging and valuable session. We hope to welcome you back soon! 👏

Lots of fun at our Ardrossan Centre! 💜

The children loved getting involved in sensory tuff tray activities and exploring our new OMi interactive projector for the first time. It was great to see everyone having fun, interacting and discovering all the different ways to play and learn together. 🌟

We’re looking for a warm, approachable Community Connector to work alongside families in Stevenston Hayocks – building trust, creating opportunities and helping people connect with the support, services and opportunities that matter to them.

You could be a great fit if you:
• Know Stevenston Hayocks or the wider Three Towns area
• Can connect naturally with people and build trust
• Understand some of the challenges local families can face
• Are positive, non-judgemental and community-minded
• Want to help people build confidence, connections and opportunities

🎬 We enjoyed some lovely, relaxing movie days at KO-NEKT! Everyone chose a film before we placed all the suggestions into a hat and picked the winner at random.

Then it was time to settle in and enjoy the film with some tasty snacks and juice.

A chilled-out day filled with choice, fun and plenty of laughs! 🍿

Our young people have been keeping busy with a brilliant mix of activities recently! From getting creative with arts and crafts and exploring through messy play, to having some very special firefighter fun. 🚒✨

We’ve also been out and about, with one of our young people enjoying a fantastic 1:1 trip to Zippos Circus! 🎪🤹

☀️ What a summer it’s been at KO-NEKT! 💙

As our summer programme comes to an end within our centres, we’re looking back on so many brilliant moments. From painting, reading and dressing up to walks, outdoor play, books, face painting and plenty of laughter, our young people have certainly kept busy! 🎨📚🌳✨

With pupils across North and South Ayrshire returning to school tomorrow, we’d like to wish all of our young people the very best as they begin a new school year. We hope you have a fantastic first day! 🌟 And, of course, a big shout-out to our young people in North Lanarkshire, who headed back to school last week - we hope your first week back has been a great one! 💙
