1. Keep sipping water 💧
Don’t wait until you feel thirsty. Aim to drink small amounts regularly throughout the day to stay hydrated.

2. Stay out of the midday sun 🧢
Try to avoid direct sunlight between 11am and 3pm, when UV rays and temperatures are at their highest.

3. Dress to stay cool 👕
Choose loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-coloured clothing made from breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen.

4. Keep your environment cool 🧊
Close curtains or blinds during the hottest part of the day, use a fan if you have one, and consider a cool shower or damp flannel to help lower your body temperature.

5. Listen to your body 💙
Fatigue, dizziness, headaches, nausea, or feeling unusually weak can be signs that your body needs rest, fluids, or medical advice. Don’t push through—take breaks and contact your healthcare team if symptoms worsen.

Heatwaves can be more challenging when you’re living with or recovering from cancer. A few simple steps can make a big difference in helping you stay comfortable and safe. Which tip are you going to prioritise today? ☀️💙

He did it. 24 km carrying 16.5 kg! 💪

In 5 hours and 45 minutes, Dr Samir completed an incredible challenge in support of two amazing causes: Barts Charity and CLL Support, helping people living with leukaemia and working to improve outcomes for patients facing serious infections within leukaemia and transplant units.

From all of us at Ichor Health, we are incredibly proud of you. Not only for crossing the finish line, but for taking on a personal challenge that reflects the same determination and compassion you bring to your patients every day.

A huge congratulations on this remarkable achievement.

The question is... what’s next, Dr Samir? 👀

A patient shared something very powerful with us this week.

She said:

« Before cancer, we would meet friends, have the most wonderful time together, and always say, ‘Why did it take us so long to do this? Let’s not wait so long next time »

But then life gets busy again. Work, family, responsibilities... and before you know it, months have passed.

Cancer changes that. You don’t always say it out loud, but you need people more than ever. You need support. You need someone to check in, sit with you, listen, or simply be there a little more than usual »

Sometimes people show up in ways you never expected. Sometimes the people you thought would be there disappear. And sometimes, the person who quietly steps in and carries you through is the one you least imagined.

There is nothing wrong with any of this. It teaches you something important: surround yourself with the people who bring comfort, peace, and presence. They are the ones who matter most when life becomes uncertain.

A gentle reminder to cherish the people who show up, and to be that person for someone else when you can. 💙

✨ It’s Pinky’s turn! ✨

Meet Pinky Jimenez, co-founder of Ichor Health Clinic 💙

Pinky is an Occupational Therapist and ACT Practitioner (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), helping people navigate life’s challenges with compassion, kindness and practical support.

Many of you will know her as the calm and reassuring voice behind our monthly meditation sessions, where she has built a wonderful community that comes together each month to pause, breathe and reconnect.

A few things you may not know about Pinky... 👇

🏊‍♀️ She swims in the sea, even in winter!

🏋️‍♀️ She’s a regular at the gym.

🍝 She’s a huge foodie (her Instagram proves it!).

❤️ She’s devoted to her family, friends and patients.

💙 What I admire most about Pinky is her calmness. No matter what’s happening around her, she always manages to focus on solutions rather than problems — something I think we could all learn from.

We’re so grateful to have her as part of the Ichor Health family.

Have you met Pinky or joined one of her meditation sessions? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

“I’m not what happened to me. I’m what I choose to be.”

A powerful reminder that healing, growth and resilience begin with the choices we make each day.

No matter what challenges you have faced, you are not defined by your past. Every step forward is an opportunity to shift, grow and become the person you choose to be.

✨ If you’d like to take a moment for yourself, join us this evening at 8pm for our free online meditation session. No camera, no pressure, just 25 minutes to pause, breathe and reconnect.

Last week, Pinky and Dr Samir celebrated their wedding anniversary ❤️

As the founders of Ichor Health, they bring very different strengths to the clinic, but together they share the same vision: to provide compassionate, patient-centred care and support people on their journey to better health.

Just as they complement each other in life, they also complement each other in their work—combining medical expertise, wellbeing support, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Lilibet’s in Mayfair for looking after them so beautifully and making the evening so memorable.

Here’s to love, partnership, and making a difference together. 🥂✨

2️⃣ Prevents muscle loss – It helps preserve strength and independence as you age.

3️⃣ Boosts mental wellbeing – Strength training can reduce stress, improve mood, and build confidence.

4️⃣ Strengthens bones and joints – It supports bone density, balance, and mobility, helping to prevent injuries.

5️⃣ Supports recovery and resilience – It can improve overall health, aid recovery from illness, and enhance quality of life.

✨ Strength training isn’t just about building muscle—it’s about building a stronger, healthier, and more resilient you.

This is Dr Samir 👋

For all our new followers, here are 5 things you may not know about him:

1️⃣ Consultant Haemato-Oncologist with 35+ years of NHS experience. Samir retired from the NHS this year, but very luckily for us, he’s now working full time at Ichor Health Clinic 💗

2️⃣ He trained at the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital and completed a PhD in Tumour Immunology in Paris 🇫🇷🥐

3️⃣ He’s passionate about combining modern medicine with a more holistic approach to health and healing — because patients deserve more than just a diagnosis. They deserve to be listened to and treated as people, not numbers.

4️⃣ He’s fluent in French… and yes, our social media manager Sophie can confirm 😁

5️⃣ Next month, he’ll be running 24km carrying 17kg in the heat in the 60+ category 💪 Such an athlete!!!!

Beyond medicine, Samir strongly believes patients should feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their journey — not just treated.

We’re very lucky to have him at Ichor Health 🤍

If you’d like to book a consultation, feel free to send us a DM. The first consultation is free and is a great opportunity to discuss how we may be able to help you.
