I'm slowly settling into this little chapter of recovery after my operation, and I have to admit, it feels very strange not being at work and seeing all your lovely faces.

Going from being busy, chatting, working, and being on my feet to being told to properly rest is definitely an adjustment. I'm not always the best at slowing down, but I'm trying to listen to my body and give it the time it needs.

This is where I’m spending most of my day on my favourite chair. This chair has seen me through some rough nights when the twins were babies and holds some lovely memories of feeding, rocking and cuddling them ❤️
It is affectionately known as the green chair, I know it’s no longer green, it needed a freshen up as it was well loved. It is doing its job again keeping me comfy.

Hi Everyone
Some of you already know that I’m off work at the moment following a hysterectomy.
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while I recover from my operation.

I will be off work for the approximately the next 6 weeks, and I am so grateful to those of you who have kindly moved your appointments, as well as those who are having to wait a little longer to be seen. I really appreciate your flexibility and support.

Thank you also for all the lovely messages and well wishes I have received. They truly mean a lot and have been very much appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you all again and catching up with you all once I’m back and fully recovered 🤍

If I had to pick one treatment I recommend most consistently across different ages, skin types, and concerns — it would be Profhilo.

Profhilo is a skin remodelling treatment, not a filler. It's made from ultra-pure hyaluronic acid and it works differently from anything else I offer. Rather than adding volume or structure, it disperses through the skin and stimulates the production of four different types of collagen and elastin. The result is skin that looks and feels genuinely healthier — more hydrated, firmer, more luminous.

It's delivered in just five injection points on each side of the face which makes it one of the more comfortable injectable treatments but I’ll be honest it does sting a bit. Most patients need two sessions four weeks apart, then a maintenance treatment every four to six months.

I love it for patients in their late 30s and beyond who feel like their skin has lost its glow or its bounce. I also love it for patients who want to improve skin quality without changing their features. It's subtle, it's natural, and the results speak for themselves.

If you've been curious about Profhilo, come in for a consultation and we'll talk through whether it's the right fit for you. 🤍

Map My Mole is a mole assessment and monitoring service. Using dermoscopy, I can take images of moles and skin lesions in detail, document them, and send them to a dermatologist for assessment.
A report is then delivered to you via email informing you what the lesion is and what the next steps if any are needed.

If you have a mole that's changed, a lesion you're unsure about — please don't put it off.

Book via the link in my bio. This is one of those appointments that's always worth making. 🤍

If you've never had aesthetic treatment before — or you've had it elsewhere and you're not sure what to expect from me — this one's for you.

A consultation at The Bank Clinic isn't a sales appointment. It's a proper clinical conversation.

I'll ask about your medical history, your medications, your skincare routine, and what's brought you in. I'll look at your skin and your face properly — not just the area you're concerned about, but the whole picture. I'll ask what you're hoping for, and I'll be honest with you about what's realistic.

Sometimes I'll recommend something different from what you came in expecting. Sometimes I'll suggest we start with something less invasive and see how your skin responds. Occasionally I'll tell you that I don't think treatment is the right step right now — and I'll explain why.

There's no pressure. No hard sell. No minimum spend. Just a thorough, honest assessment from a clinically trained nurse prescriber who genuinely cares about getting it right for you.

If you've been putting off booking because you're not sure what to expect — I hope this helps. The link to book is in my bio. 🤍

May is here, the sun is (occasionally) showing up, and I'm going to say the thing I say every single year: please wear your SPF.

I know. You've heard it. But I genuinely cannot overstate how much of the skin damage I see in clinic — the pigmentation, the fine lines, the uneven texture, the loss of elasticity — is UV-related. And so much of it is preventable.

SPF is the single most evidence-based skincare intervention there is. More than any serum, any treatment, any ingredient. If you do nothing else for your skin, wear SPF 30 or above every day, rain or shine, and reapply if you're spending time outdoors.

I also want to say this: if you're investing in treatments — skin boosters, biostimulators, RF microneedling, peels — and you're not wearing SPF consistently, you are genuinely undermining your results. UV exposure breaks down collagen, triggers pigmentation, and accelerates the very ageing processes we're working to slow down.

It doesn't have to be expensive. It just has to be consistent.

If you'd like a recommendation for an SPF that works for your skin type, ask me at your next appointment — I'm always happy to point you in the right direction. 🤍

I get asked about this a lot, particularly by patients in their late 20s and early 30s: "Am I too young to start?"

The honest answer is — it depends on what you're considering and why.

Preventative aesthetics isn't about treating things that aren't there yet. It's about supporting your skin health before significant changes occur, so that you're maintaining rather than correcting. There's a meaningful difference between the two, and it's one I take seriously.

For some people in their late 20s, a skin booster or a course of microneedling to support skin quality makes complete sense. For others, a good skincare routine and SPF is genuinely all they need at that stage. I will always tell you honestly which category you fall into.

What I won't do is treat someone who doesn't need treating. That's not good practice, and it's not who I am.

If you're curious about where you are on your skin health journey and what, if anything, might benefit you right now — come in for a consultation. We'll have a proper look and a proper conversation. 🤍

You might have seen "skin cycling" trending on social media — and for once, it's a trend I actually think is worth talking about.

Skin cycling is the practice of rotating your active skincare ingredients across the week rather than using them all at once every night. The idea is that you give your skin time to benefit from each ingredient without overloading or irritating it.

A typical cycle might look like: chemical exfoliation one night, retinol the next, then a night of recovery with just hydration and barrier support. Then repeat.

I think the principle behind it is sound. Overusing actives — especially retinol and acids together — is a common mistake I see, and it leads to a compromised skin barrier, sensitivity, and ironically, worse skin.

What I'd add to the conversation is this: the products you're using at home matter, but they work best when they're supporting what's happening in clinic. In-clinic treatments can do things that no skincare product can replicate — but good home care absolutely extends and enhances those results.

If you'd like advice on what to use at home alongside your treatments, I'm always happy to chat through it at consultation. 🤍

One of the things I feel most strongly about in my practice is this: aesthetics works best as a long-term plan, not a series of one-off treatments.

When I see a patient for the first time, I'm not just thinking about what they want today. I'm thinking about their skin health over the next one, two, five years. What combination of treatments will give them the best results? What order makes sense? What's the most cost-effective and clinically sound approach?

The reason I use different modalities — injectables, biostimulators, skin boosters, RF microneedling, IPL, peels — is that each one does something different, and the best outcomes come from using them together intelligently. A biostimulator builds collagen from within. RF microneedling tightens and resurfaces. A skin booster hydrates and plumps. Together, they work in a way that none of them can achieve alone.

I also think about maintenance. Results don't last forever, and that's not a failure — it's biology. Knowing when to top up, when to change approach, and when to let the skin rest is part of good clinical practice.

Consultations are always a proper chat — no pressure, no hard sell. 🤍

Right, I'm going to do something a bit brave here and show you a photo I nearly deleted.

This is me. Same face I've had for 44 years. No sudden change in my jawline, no overnight jowl situation. The first photo is on a phone camera, a downward angle, and some VERY unforgiving lighting. The second photo is taken with the same phone but in natural light. The difference is crazy !

I'm sharing this because I think it matters — especially in a world where before-and-after photos are everywhere, and where people come into clinic genuinely distressed about features they've seen in a photo that don't reflect how they actually look in real life.

Lighting, angle, camera lens, and even the type of phone you use can dramatically change how your face appears in a photo. A slightly downward angle softens the jawline. Harsh overhead lighting creates shadows. A wide-angle lens distorts proportions. None of that is your face — it's physics.

I'm not saying aesthetic treatments can't help — they absolutely can but unfortunately they won’t give you surgical face lift results. But I will always be honest with you about what's a real concern and what's just a bad photo. That's the kind of practitioner I am. 🤍
