Just a reminder that our Penclawdd and Scurlage pharmacies will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday.

If you’re due to collect a prescription or need anything from us, please make sure you pop in before the weekend.

We’ll be back open as usual on Tuesday 💙

🎉 One Year at Scurlage Pharmacy! 🎉

Today marks one year since Scurlage Pharmacy became part of the Rees Pharmacy Group.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful patients for the warm welcome and continued support over the last 12 months.

It's been a privilege to become part of the local community, and we're incredibly proud of everything we've achieved together.

A special thank you also goes to our fantastic team, whose hard work, kindness and dedication make Scurlage such a lovely place to visit every day.

☀️ Stay Safe in the Heatwave ☀️

With temperatures expected to reach 35°C today, it's important to take extra care in the heat.

💧 Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🏠 Stay in the shade where possible and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm).

👒 Wear loose, light-coloured clothing and don't forget sunscreen.

⚠️ Some health conditions and medications can increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness, including:
• Heart conditions
• Kidney disease
• Diabetes
• Dementia
• Respiratory conditions

Certain medications may also make you more vulnerable, including: • Diuretics ("water tablets") • Some blood pressure medications • Laxatives • Certain antidepressants and antipsychotics

Signs of dehydration can include: • Thirst • Dry mouth • Dark urine • Dizziness • Headache • Tiredness or confusion

Please check on elderly relatives, neighbours and anyone vulnerable during this hot weather.

If you're unsure whether your medication or medical condition may affect you in the heat, speak to a member of our pharmacy team for advice.

We're so excited to finally introduce Gower Apothecary, our pharmacist-led skincare brand inspired by the beauty of the Gower coast.

As pharmacists, we've spent years helping people with concerns such as dry skin, sensitivity, redness and acne. Time and again, we found ourselves having the same conversations about skincare and wanting to simplify the advice we gave.

Gower Apothecary was created with one simple aim:

Today we're celebrating all the dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures and carers who support, guide and care for their families every day.

A special Father's Day shout-out to our own Jonathan and Huw, who balance the demands of pharmacy life with being fantastic dads. Thank you for everything you do both in the pharmacy and at home.

We’re pleased to now offer GP and hospital requested blood tests at Scurlage Pharmacy.

Rather than travelling further afield or waiting for limited appointments, you can have your blood test carried out locally by our trained team, with samples securely sent to the hospital laboratory for processing.
