“Winter solstice is here. Today is a day full of darkness, we have come to the shortest day of the year, and yet, it is also the day which marks the beginning of the suns return.

A time to celebrate the darkness, that in its richness and restfulness holds the language of the invisible, the wordless - the seeds, our feelings, the incredible bacteria, the stars, our dreams, formations, alchemy, the roots and the minerals.

As well as the growing light, which calls us to stretch out, be seen, warm up, grow outwards and unfurl.

It can be too easy to see the light as a saviour who rescues us, as the opposing force of darkness and categorise light and dark as good and bad.

Yet light and dark are different characters of one whole, they work together, are both beautiful, needed and vital.

Together they invite dreaming and action, rest and work, feeling and exploring, as well as Inner and outer growth.

This is a beautiful time to remember the dark feeling beauty of our inner worlds, and the light and seeds that we all hold within.” - Brigit Anna McNeill
