Where do I start with every client?

Usually not with calories.
Not with cutting carbs.
Not with banning treats.
Not with telling them to “just try harder”.

Because most women who come to me are already trying.

They’ve read the articles.
Tried the diets.
Bought the supplements.
Pushed through the tiredness.

And they’re still feeling:

exhausted
bloated
stuck in their body
frustrated nothing is changing

So where do I start?

With the foundations.

I look at things like:

sleep quality
stress load
blood sugar balance
protein intake
digestion and bowel habits
energy patterns through the day
what real life actually looks like for them

Because when foundations are shaky, piling on another diet rarely works.

When foundations improve…

Energy lifts.
Cravings calm.
Digestion improves.
Weight often becomes easier to shift.
Women feel more like themselves again.

That’s why I don’t start where most people expect.

Your healthy eating isn’t working.

And no - it’s not because you’ve “failed”.

This is something I see often with women in midlife.

They tell me:

“I eat well most of the time”
“I don’t understand why I’m gaining weight”
“I’m trying to be good”
“I’m eating less than ever”

Yet they still feel:

tired
bloated
stuck
frustrated in their body

Here’s the truth:

Healthy eating and eating right for your body right now, are not always the same thing.

Sometimes the issue is:

too little protein
skipping meals
relying on snacks
blood sugar spikes and crashes
not enough calories earlier in the day
stress affecting digestion
eating “clean” but not eating enough nourishment

So women blame themselves…

when really, the strategy needs updating.

What worked in your 30s may not work in your 40s and 50s.

Midlife often asks for smarter support - not stricter dieting.

Why are you still exhausted…
even when you’re doing everything right?

You’re trying:

Eating “healthy”
Getting on with life
Pushing through
Taking supplements
Keeping everyone else going

…yet you still wake up tired.

Need caffeine to function.

Hit a wall by mid-afternoon.

And wonder:

“What is wrong with me?”

Usually?

Nothing is wrong with you.

You’re just working hard with a body that needs a different kind of support now.

Because in midlife, exhaustion is rarely about laziness or lack of effort.

It’s often linked to things like:

unstable blood sugar
poor sleep quality
chronic stress load
under-eating protein
low recovery time
digestive issues affecting nutrient absorption
doing too much for too long

This is why trying harder often doesn’t work.

More discipline won’t fix depletion.

More willpower won’t restore energy.

What works is understanding what your body is asking for - and supporting the foundations properly.

When we do that, energy often returns far faster than women expect.

Waking at 3am… again?

Body tired.
Mind wide awake.

You look at the clock.

3:07.

And then it starts…

thinking about work
worrying about everyone else
mentally listing tomorrow’s jobs
wondering why this keeps happening

By morning, you feel like you’ve already done a full day.

So many women assume this is “just menopause” and they simply have to put up with it.

But waking in the early hours can often be a sign that your body is asking for support.

Common drivers can include:

blood sugar dips during the night
stress hormones staying switched on
alcohol disrupting sleep cycles
caffeine still lingering
nervous system overload
poor sleep habits that have quietly built up

This is why sleeping tablets or “just get an early night” often miss the mark.

You don’t need to blame yourself.

You need to understand what your body is trying to tell you.

When we support the foundations properly, sleep often improves far more than women expect.

Because for some women, HRT can be incredibly helpful.

But what I see time and time again in clinic is this:

Women start HRT expecting...
🌸 more energy
🌸 better sleep
🌸 weight loss
🌸 to feel like themselves again
.. and when it doesn't fully deliver, they're left thinking:

😞 Whats wrong with me?

The truth?

There's nothing wrong with you.
HRT supports hormones... but it doesn't fix what's happening underneath.

If your body is struggling with:
🫤 blood sugar balance
🫤 gut health
🫤 nutritional deficiencies
🫤 chronic stress

You can still feel:
😫 exhausted
😫 bloated
😫 wired but tired
😫 stuck in your body
..even when you are 'doing something about it'.
