For , we put together some thank you gift bags and certificates for all of our volunteers who have supported us in the past year. We celebrated a large number of volunteers at Making Memories Dementia Cafe on Wednesday - they were even serenaded with "Simply The Best" by Jo, aka Tina Turner! And Milda visited Men's Health Group on Thursday to thank Abdul and Ajaib for their support with running the group. We'll be catching up with any volunteers we didn't manage to see next week, to make sure everyone gets their gift and certificate.

Thank you so much to every single one of our volunteers for everything you do for our organisation and our community. Just look at the infographic to see how much you have achieved in the last year alone!

Our lovely Saada popped into the office to bring the team these freshly baked samosas (still warm!) and chocolates to celebrate Eid al-Adha. A big thank you to her for thinking of us whilst she was off celebrating! 🥰

We wish Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate it.

We're really pleased to have been selected as one of the Everyone Active Community Champions for the next 12 months! Their Community Champions programme is designed to recognise projects that make a meaningful difference in their local communities - "the everyday heroes who go above and beyond to foster connection, wellbeing and progress in the areas they live and work."

Lucie and Fran from our team met with Charlotte from EIS - Sheffield today to talk about how we can make best use of this recognition in order to offer more opportunities for community members to get active in ways that work for them. So look out for new sessions from us at EIS this Autumn!

Everyone Active Community Champions programme celebrates the unsung heroes who make an extraordinary impact on their local communities.

to our Art on the Allotment sessions, which we ran thanks to funding from the JG Graves Trust back in 2021. These sessions were the inspiration for our On the Plot sessions - which are back next Thursday afternoon!

On The Plot consists of 8 fun, creative sessions for people living with Dementia and their carers. It is a really good opportunity to get outdoors with others in a safe space at Darnall Allotment Project. This video gives a good idea of what sorts of things we have done with people at the allotment before - but please note that the group will now be at the plot's new site at Ouse Road Allotments, off Staniforth Road.

Please contact Jo if you would like to know more about these sessions (0114 249 6315 / 07495 548929) - booking essential.

It’s - a good time to share some key bits from our impact report about our Dementia offer in the last financial year. As you can see, Jo and our volunteers achieved a lot! And for the next 2 years, we are part of the Primary Care Dementia Project in Sheffield, which means we have funding for additional dementia link worker hours, enabling us to provide support to even more people. 🙌
