August fundraising roundup 👠⛰️

What a month! August saw the second edition of our Red Shoe Walk, as well as some brilliant fundraising by our local community ✨

👠Thanks to your amazing support, we have raised an incredible £16,583 for dementia initiatives in Sheffield! This money will make a huge difference for people living with dementia and those who care for them.

🥾Neil walked the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise money for vital research into ataxia - a cause close to his heart. He has raised nearly £1000!

🏏Sheffield Hallam Uni organised a rounders day! Their fun day helped raise a total of £462. Thanks so much to everyone who took part.

⛰️Oliver walked over 190 miles from coast to coast of the UK to give back to Jessops' fertility department. He was inspired to take part after he and his wife had such a supportive experience going through their IVF journey. His huge effort has raised over £1,800!

We dropped by to check on progress of the dementia-friendly gardens being built at the Northern General for patients and families on the Brearley Wards. 🪏
 
They should be completed by the end of September and we can’t wait to show you the finished result. 🌼

Today is ! 🐾🐶

We’re celebrating the four-legged, pawfect companions who bring smiles and therapeutic support to patients across Sheffield. Thanks to your support, our funding helped facilitate 333 therapy dog visits across 72 departments at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust last year 💙

Join us in giving a big round of a-paws to these incredible dogs and their dedicated handlers who brighten up the wards ✨

To honour their daughter Ophelia, Ollie and Georgina took on the National Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours, with Ollie carrying a boiler to represent the weight of grief ⛰️

After receiving support and care from the team at the Jessop Wing, they wanted to give back and help other families facing loss 🌷

Every step, every summit, and every fund raised is a tribute to Ophelia 💙
