Please note that the industrial action within the NHS by resident doctors has commenced this morning and will end at 7am on Friday 19th June.

Please continue to attend appointments unless you have been contacted and advised that yours has been postponed.

All NHS services are experiencing extremely high demand at the minute, including ourselves so please bear in mind that you can use www.nhs.uk for self care advice and use the online symptom checker on 111.nhs.uk.

Just a reminder that as it’s bank holiday Monday next week we will be closed from 6.30pm on Friday until 8am on Tuesday 26th of May.
Minor injuries, 111 and 999 are all operating as normal during this time.

Sheffield Mind are running some free 6 week, anger management courses.
They offer men’s and women’s only courses, mainly from their building at 110 Sharrow Lane, S11 8AL, however, they do offer online courses for those unable to attend.

As we mentioned previously we are focusing on childhood vaccinations to ensure that the children of the valley are safe.

Yesterday we put in an extra clinic but sadly 7 patients failed to attend without giving any notice, that’s 7 wasted appointments that could have been used by others, 1 hour and 45 minutes of wasted nurse time and 7 vulnerable children.

PLEASE, if you accept an appointment have the decency to cancel so that others can use it and PLEASE consider making vaccinating your children a priority.

If you call the practice on Wednesday afternoon your call will be diverted to the out of hours team who will be providing care.

111 and 999 services will be operating as usually during the afternoon.

May is Stroke Awareness Month.

The first sign of a stroke might not seem like much. It could be not being able to raise your arm. Or struggling to smile. Or slurring when you speak... But any sign of a stroke is always an emergency.

Face or arm or speech - at the first sign, it's time to call 999.

I’d like to introduce you to our new addition at the practice, Captain Dino’s corner.
The not so friendly looking T Rex is here to protect children from nasty diseases 🦠
Any child over the age of 18 months who attends for vaccinations will receive a pack containing a bravery certificate, a sticker, a picture to colour in and some pencils. Completed pictures can be returned for display in the corner.
Whilst they are waiting to see the Nurse they see how many dinosaur eggs they can spot dotted around.
So many children are started school in the valley without being fully vaccinated and we need your help to improve that.
We are about to embark on a vaccination campaign so if you receive a text or a call to bring your child in then please do so 🙏
