Clinical Insights with Dr. Mahmoud Saad

In this case of lumbar spine stenosis, a conventional approach might have led us to assume flexion-based management. But instead of relying on assumptions, the McKenzie Method guided us through a step-by-step repeated movement assessment.

“We can’t start an assessment with assumptions. There are no stereotypes in human bodies—each patient tells their own story.”

This highlights the core values of the McKenzie concept:
-- Clarity over assumptions – every patient’s presentation is unique.
-- Systematic testing – repeated movements reveal the true mechanical response.
-- Individualized planning – the patient’s own response dictates the intervention, not stereotypes.

__Takeaway message: Don’t assume. Trust the system. Test. Listen. Let the patient’s response guide the plan.
