π Would a local support group be something youβd be interested in?
Following our recent open day, weβve been thinking about how many people can feel lonely or isolated after losing someone they love, or while caring for a loved one.
So, weβre considering opening the doors at GA Care in Shefford one evening a month or perhaps every few months for a couple of hours, simply to give people a place to come together. π«Ά
A relaxed, informal space where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a biscuit (or maybe a little cake!) βπ°, and most importantly, have someone to talk to.
There would be no pressure to talk and no expectations. You could simply come along, sit, listen, have a cuppa and meet others who may understand some of what youβre going through.
It could be for anyone who:
π Has experienced the loss or bereavement of a loved one
π Is caring for someone they love
π Is feeling lonely or isolated
π Is finding things difficult and would like someone to talk to
π Would simply like to meet others who may be experiencing similar struggles
This would absolutely include families of people we have cared for, but you don't need to have any connection to GA Care to come along.
Everyone would be welcome.
For now, we're just putting out some feelers to see whether this is something people in our local community would value and be interested in attending.
So, what do you think? Would you come along, or do you know someone who might benefit from something like this?
Please feel free to comment below or send us a private message. We'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts. π«Ά

Sometimes, you don't need someone to fix things, you just need someone to sit with you and listen. π
