I feel honoured to have been invited to speak at the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons AGM together with my colleague Frances Martin on behalf of the BIAE about electrolysis and how it can be used in hair restoration repair cases.

False! Hair can be killed at any stage of growth if one knows what they are doing.

ABSOLUTELY FALSE!

Hairs can be treated successfully with electrolysis in any of the three phases of the hair cycle: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. Only when the hair is in Exogen will electrolysis be unsuccessful. In this phase the hair has naturally fallen out and simply isn't visible to the practitioner.

⚡The Anagen only theory for electrolysis treatment to be successful is not current thinking.
⚡We say hairs can be treated in any of the three phases of the hair cycle.
⚡We say, hairs are successfully treated even when resting in Telogen.
⚡Electrolysis requires: up to date knowledge, precision, strategies for face and body work, different probe choices, knowledge of the skin and hair, safe equipment and a thorough understanding of the current intensities and modalities.
⚡We say, check your practitioner has taken CPD (continued professional development) including updating their electrolysis hair removal skills and current knowledge.
