When someone comes in wanting the full list on day one, I usually smile and say, slow down, lovely, there is no rush. I get it, you have had a scroll, you feel inspired, and you want to sort everything in one go. I gently pump the brakes and we pick one thing to do really well. Then we let it settle properly, see how your skin responds, and check in on how you feel when you look in the mirror day to day. It is kinder on your skin, friendlier on your budget, and it keeps your head nice and calm through the process. You can always add more later, but too much too soon can leave you chasing your tail. Most of my happiest clients are the ones who took the steady route, even if they were impatient at the start. If this sounds like you, pop me a message and we will build a sensible plan together.

Pigmentation is a 🐶

This is a problem I see a lot in clinic. It can be years worth of sun damage, sometimes it is darkness after spots or could be melasma. Either way it is hard to shift. We really need to hit it hard - to remove the pigment that is already there but also to prevent new pigment from forming.

What treatment would I be booking in for?

The sun has gone. The rain is back. We’re in the ‘ber months. Party season is on the horizon.

I’d be booking in for a course of treatments: microneedling, peels or skin boosters. (Or maybe even a combination of these!)

These treatments need a course to get the best results, meaning you need 3-4 months. If you’re thinking about looking your best for party season, book in for a consultation and we can decide which treatment would be best for you

Fine lines are rarely a straight line to age. They are often a clue about how well your skin is being supported day to day. Collagen gives structure, hydration gives bounce, and you need both if you want skin that stays calm and resilient. When the barrier is strong and the skin is properly hydrated, lines tend to look softer whatever your birth certificate says. That is why I am always more interested in building strength than chasing a quick surface smooth. In clinic, the biggest shifts I see come from a proper skin plan that supports the skin to behave better, not just look shinier for a week. If your skin feels tight, thirsty, or a bit reactive, it might be quietly asking for barrier help. Send me a message and I will talk you through how we can build a stronger skin barrier for you.

Bad work shouts…
Good work whispers

The aim of the treatments I provide is to help support your natural proportions and movement. Not to completely change the way you look.

People should look at you and think “wow she looks great” not “oh my god, what have you had done?”

Looking after your skin does not make you vain. Can we retire that idea once and for all. Wanting to feel good when you catch yourself in the mirror is a very human instinct, it is the same reason you reach for the outfit you love on a big day. I see it in clinic all the time, people come in saying they feel silly for caring, then they leave looking lighter because they finally did something for themselves. You are allowed to invest in feeling like you again, and it usually shows up in your posture, your energy, and the way you take up space. Skin treatments are personal, so I always start with a proper chat about what is bothering you and what you actually want to see change. If there is one thing you have been quietly putting off, message me and we can talk it through, no pressure and no judgement.

Skincare tip ✅

Always brush your teeth before doing the rest of your skincare routine. When left on the skin fluoride toothpaste can cause irritation and lead to issues, like perioral dermatitis. If you’ve ever had perioral dermatitis, you know it’s a pain to get rid of.

So brush teeth, then cleanse and follow with the rest of your routine.

A really common misunderstanding about peels is that they are all this dramatic shedding of skin.

That happens with a deep peel. Deep peels absolutely have their place for things like deep scars. Superficial peels are fantastic for refreshing your skin. If you’re struggling with pigmentation after all of this sun, this could be a great option for you!

Your acne cleared years ago, but the scarring stuck around and no one really told you it could shift. I hear this all the time in clinic, usually said with a little shrug like it is just your skin now. The good news is textured skin is not one single problem, so it is not one single treatment either. A dip in the skin, a raised mark, and discolouration behave completely differently, which is why guessing at products can get frustrating fast. With the right plan, modern treatments can genuinely soften texture, even when the scarring has been sat there for years. It takes a bit of patience and the expectations need to be realistic, but you can absolutely see change. If you want to know what type of scarring you are dealing with, send me a message or book a skin consultation and we will map it out properly.

I used to believe this about aging - that I’d look the same as my grandmother does.

Now I know there are so many tools we can use to help keep our skin healthy for longer. SPF being the easiest and cheapest. But also introducing treatments and skincare to support the skin to work properly. Prevention is definitely the route I want to take for my skin 🙏🏼
