Sunshine does more than lift our mood ☀️

Vitamin D plays an important role in women’s reproductive health, helping to support hormone balance, ovulation, and overall fertility. Research has also linked healthy vitamin D levels with better reproductive outcomes and a healthier pregnancy journey.

A little time outdoors each day can be a simple yet powerful way to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

So if the sun is shining today, why not take a few moments to step outside, breathe deeply, and soak up some natural goodness. 💛

Any local pregnant ladies out there 16+ weeks - the next NCT course run by Blooming Lotus starts 27th June in Trent, see more information below.

An NCT antenatal course helps you prepare for pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood.

You’ll explore and learn more about a wide range of topics - from what expect in labour and birth, to caring for your newborn, feeding your baby and adjusting to your new life as a parent.

It’s also a great opportunity to meet other expectant parents in your local area - to learn together, share experiences and build connections that often last well beyond the course. In fact, 95% of parents who attend our courses stay in touch with their NCT friends for years after having their baby!

You can book your course at any time, though most parents do so around 16 weeks of pregnancy. Our courses can fill quickly, so it’s a good idea to book early if you can. Booking early also means you'll have the option to spread the cost in monthly, interest-free instalments, making it easier to plan ahead.

Each course price covers two people, so you can attend with your partner, a family member or friend.

Your next local course starts 27th June at Trent Memorial Hall

Hello June…

June invites us to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and make space for our own wellbeing as we move into the warmth and energy of summer.

Whether it’s taking time out for a reflexology treatment or listening to a relaxation recording at the end of a busy day, small moments of self-care can help restore balance, calm the mind, and support overall wellbeing.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and restorative June. 🌿

Love this post, it really helps explain that Reflexology is more than just a ‘foot rub’ !! 👍🏻😊

We often talk about how reflexology feels - calming, grounding, restorative.
But what’s happening underneath that?

A double-blind randomised controlled trial (the gold standard in research) looked at what happens in the body during a reflexology session.

Researchers measured real-time cardiovascular responses in healthy volunteers and found:
✔️ Immediate changes in haemodynamics (how blood flows through the body)
✔️ A measurable effect on cardiac function, specifically the cardiac index
✔️ Effects observed during targeted reflexology on foot areas linked to the heart

In simple terms?
This wasn’t just “feeling relaxed” — the body showed objective, physiological changes in real time.

It’s a powerful reminder that touch therapies like reflexology can have measurable impacts beyond relaxation alone.

Hello April 🌿

A new month, a softer light, and the gentle return of warmth and renewal. There’s something about April that invites us to breathe a little deeper, slow down, and begin again.

Just like nature, our bodies and minds respond beautifully to this shift — making it the perfect time to release what’s been held, restore balance, and welcome in fresh, calm energy.

If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or out of sync, let this be your nudge to reconnect with yourself this season 🌸

Here’s to lighter days, renewed energy, and nurturing your wellbeing from the inside out.

With warmth xx

“PCOS, Endometriosis, Heavy Periods… Your Body Isn’t Broken — It’s Asking for Support.” When Your Hormones Feel Out of Balance

If you’re living with PCOS, endometriosis, heavy periods, or irregular cycles, you’ll know that it’s not just about your hormones.

It can feel like your body is constantly trying to tell you something…
through fatigue, pain, anxiety, mood changes, or cycles that never quite settle.

As a reflexologist working with women’s health, I see how deeply hormonal health is connected to the nervous system, stress levels, and overall balance in the body.

Reflexology gently works with the body’s own communication systems.
By supporting relaxation and calming the nervous system, it can help encourage better hormonal balance and a greater sense of ease within your cycle.

Many women say they notice:
• calmer, more regulated cycles
• reduced stress and tension
• improved sleep
• a deeper sense of connection with their bodies

Because when the body feels safe and supported, it often finds its way back towards balance.

If you’re navigating PCOS, endometriosis, heavy bleeding, or unpredictable cycles, know that you don’t have to manage it alone.

🌿 Your body deserves gentle support.

Menopause, Anxiety & Finding Calm

Menopause can feel like a storm in the body and mind.

Many women tell me they suddenly feel more anxious, overwhelmed or on edge, even if anxiety has never really been part of their story before. Hormonal shifts can affect the nervous system, sleep, mood and that sense of inner steadiness we rely on.

It can leave you feeling like your body is running the show… and you’re just trying to keep up.

From a women’s health therapy perspective, one of the most helpful things we can do during this phase is support the nervous system.

When the body is under stress, the nervous system moves into a more alert, protective state. But when we gently guide the body back into deep relaxation, we activate the vagus nerve — the pathway that helps signal safety, calm and balance throughout the body.

And when the nervous system settles, the hormonal system is better supported too.

This is exactly why I created my Deep Relaxation Audio.

It’s a gentle guided relaxation designed to:
• Calm the nervous system
• Encourage vagal tone and relaxation
• Help the body soften out of that anxious, wired feeling

You can download it for free from my website — the link is in my bio.

Think of it as a small pocket of calm for the days when your body feels a little unfamiliar.

Menopause is a powerful transition… but you don’t have to navigate it feeling overwhelmed.

✨ Affirmation:
My body is changing, but it is still wise. I allow calm to return and trust my body to find balance.

I know it’s the 8th and I’m a little slow off the start but this is a lovely image…. March arrives with a quiet shift in the air.

The days are a little lighter, the mornings a little brighter, and there’s a gentle sense of warmth beginning to return.

Spring reminds us that change doesn’t have to be rushed.
Growth can be slow, steady, and unfolding in its own time.

As we step into this new month, may it bring you moments of lightness, fresh energy, and space to breathe.

✨ This month, I welcome light, warmth and new beginnings.
