Blocked nose, facial pressure or a headache that just won’t shift? It could be sinusitis.
Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses and can cause symptoms including nasal congestion or discharge, facial pain or pressure, headaches and a reduced sense of smell.
Most cases of acute sinusitis are caused by a virus and usually improve without antibiotics. But if your symptoms are persistent or getting worse, it’s worth getting professional advice.
Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eligible patients aged 12 and over can speak to a pharmacist about sinusitis without needing to see a GP first. Your pharmacist can assess your symptoms, offer self-care advice and, where clinically appropriate, provide treatment.
If you’re experiencing sinusitis symptoms in Shipston-on-Stour, speak to the Pharmacy To My Door team to find out how we can help.
