Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do as a team is simply, spend time together.

I had the pleasure of joining the Attain team for their off-site to talk about resilience and take them through my Life Audit.

What struck me wasn’t just the conversations, it was the connections.

For a professional services team who spend so much of their time on client sites, being together in one room created something really special. People who had never met in person before. New joiners having the chance to share their stories. Colleagues who work alongside each other finally getting to know the person behind the role.

There was laughter, reflection, honest conversations and a lot of those “I didn’t know that about you” moments.

Great teams aren’t built purely through projects and performance. They’re built through trust, connection and understanding each other as humans.

Everyone walked away with their own Life Audit, a simple visual reminder to pause and reflect on what’s working, what needs attention and where they want to put their energy.

You can do your life audit for free on my website. Link in the bio.

My reaction when people think I just do breathwork. 😁

I know I talk about breathwork a lot. I run big events around it. I’ve seen it help people sleep better, reduce stress, improve focus, regulate emotions and feel more like themselves again.

But breathwork is just one of the tools I use.

I ran a very successful recruitment business with 100% fill rate and now am a highly experienced coach / mentor who helps people solve problems and perform at a higher level without burning out.

Sometimes that looks like:

* Helping someone manage stress and sleep
* Improving confidence and mindset
* Supporting leaders through pressure and overwhelm
* Helping people create healthier habits
* Improving relationships and communication
* Helping sales professionals stay resilient in high-pressure environments
* Supporting people to feel happier, calmer, healthier and more successful

Breathwork often is part of that process.

But so is mindset work, nervous system regulation, behavioural change, accountability, performance strategy, recovery, lifestyle changes, honest conversations and accountability.

If you’re looking for a coach or mentor to help turn your ambitions into reality, or you’re searching for a speaker who creates experiences people don’t just learn from but genuinely feel, then I’d love to talk.

How do we perform at a high level without burning out?

Mental Health Awareness Week felt like the perfect time to spend the morning with the team at discussing one of the biggest challenges in high performance culture.

Stress is unavoidable. Burnout is preventable.

Some of the warning signs we discussed:

* Constant fatigue, even after rest
* Feeling emotionally detached or cynical
* Poor sleep and inability to switch off
* Reduced motivation and focus
* Running on caffeine, adrenaline and “just getting through the day”

The good news is there are practical ways to protect performance:

* Build recovery into your schedule
* Create boundaries around work and tech
* Prioritise sleep and nervous system regulation
* Move your body daily
* Learn how to downshift from stress instead of staying in survival mode

We finished the session by getting into group flow with a high-energy breathwork class. A powerful reminder that energy, focus and resilience can all be trained.

Wednesday Win

I haven’t got one of these, but I want one.

I was in Manchester and the hotel ha, a single switch by the door that turns off everything non-essential as you leave.

No more:
“Did I turn the lights off?”
“Did I leave the TV on?”
“Wait… the hair straighteners?”

Just one click and you’re out the door, head clear. Less mental load. More clarity. Better performance.

What’s your version of the “one switch” right now that could make life simplified?

Didn’t take home “Coach of the Year” at the British HR Awards, but still can’t believe I was a finalist so taking that win.

The real highlights though?

Spending the day with the other amazing experts, people who genuinely care about supporting those working in HR.

telling me how he still uses the breathwork techniques I taught him.

Hanging out with from The Traitors ahead of the ELEVATE wellbeing event we’re both speaking together in October.

We’ll be bringing HR leaders together for something a bit different focusing not just on wellbeing strategies for their companies, but on their own wellbeing too.

Because the people holding it all together need support as well.

Wednesday Win

If focus can feel hard whether it’s ADHD, menopause brain or notifications, sometimes the answer is simple: change your environment.

When I need to get my head down to write a new talk or workshop, I sometimes have to remove myself from my usual space. Somewhere with fewer distractions.

This week, I took myself to the gym cafe and gave myself two uninterrupted hours to focus solely on Mental Health Awareness Week prep. No multitasking. No checking my phone. Just deep work.

My friend came in, saw I was clearly in flow, and very kindly didn’t interrupt although I do love that she took a photo (thank you Meera 🙏).

Sometimes productivity isn’t about trying harder, it’s about protecting your focus.

What could you change in your environment this week to remove distractions and get the important stuff done?

Sleep (and relationship) tip, tape your mouth at night.

Mouth breathing = snoring, dry mouth, rubbish sleep and an unhappy partner.

Nasal breathing = quieter nights, better sleep quality, and a much higher chance your relationship survives the week.

It’s a small habit, but it makes a big difference for your energy, your focus and your relationship. Not sexy but effective.

Picture posted with Christian’s approval from his Linkedin post:

“So I slapped on Michelle’s weird tape before bed.
Best. Night’s. Sleep. In. Years.
No joke.
Woke up refreshed. No sore throat. Partner actually spoke to me at breakfast.”

members you can join Christian and I in April for our “Health, Wealth & Life: The 6-Week Reset for Recruitment Leaders” programme.

Today I got to take the stage at the at the .

Panel conversations enable movement through a variety of topics, and today we certainly did that.

AI, BD, people, time, overwhelm, performance.

What a great day.
