Well thank goodness this week has been a bit cooler than last week, the students have needed umbrellas instead of fans!

We started the week by celebrating Amy's birthday, she loved the Lego flowers we gave her and can't wait to add it to her collection.

We've been back to pricing again this week. Some amazing donations have come in and the team worked very hard to get them all priced up and into the shop so do come take a look this weekend. We will be open Saturday 10am-1pm.

We all had a shock on Wednesday when our Kye not only was here on time but he actually came in early, those of you who know him know what a rarity this is! Well done Kye, keep it up!

Ffion did a fantastic job at her placement at Heather House Heather House Community Cafe on Thursday, she served lots of customers and made plenty of drinks, all with her lovely smile on her face.

As June is Pride Month we looked into the history of Pride and discussed what it meant to us. As always we are a very inclusive and diverse bunch of people here at FFF.

We also started our World Cup celebrations by designing our own football kits, some were more traditional some were vey creative!

We found this piece of local history that was kindly donated to us here at RPM. Anyone remember being part of this or the Swale Youth Orchestra in 1982? We would love to hear from you!

Wow what a scorcher it's been this week! We have been trying to keep ourselves cool, our fans and AC have been working almost as hard as we have.

As it was a bit cooler on Wednesday we tackled the garden. Jamie got the lawn mower out and gave the grass a well overdue trim. Then the rest of us headed to the garden centre to get some plants and we planted them in colourful pots all around the garden. Now we just need to remember to water them every day!
Some colourful bunting finished off the look, with our gazebo up for a bit of shade. Think you can agree the before and after photos are impressive, after all that hard work we had definitely earned an ice cream!

The heatwave has been the subject of a lot of our learning this week. We filled in a mind map of all the ways we could think of to stay cool. The students had some great ideas, the usual things such as sun cream and drinking plenty of water but some were a bit more exciting like a water fight, which they *almost* persuaded Brooke and Lucy we should head into the garden and do!

Towards the end of the week we had lots of donations to keep us busy, thank you as always for all your generous donations. We found some very interesting ones this time. Danny had some records that came free with with cereal boxes, does anyone remember them??? and Kye found a copy of Swale Music Centre vinyl from 1982 featuring the Swale youth orchestra. We would love to hear of anyone involved in it!

Have a fantastic weekend in this glorious weather, and students, remember all the ways we discussed to keep cool, including those water fights!

As you may be aware, we are endeavouring to upgrade our RPM space - both interior and exterior - and bring our small (but perfectly formed!) record shop bang up to date! Not only will this vastly improve our students environment and well-being but also enhance our customer experience.

We are a small but significant charity that supports adults of 18+ who have learning disabilities, down syndrome and/or are on the autistic spectrum, with their work place skills. We also offer life skills in our learning room above the shop, as well as events and activities throughout the year.

If you were able to donate to our DIY project and help us in investing in our students future here at the Fenner Frost Foundation, we would be so very grateful! Just click on the Crowdfunder link below...x

Our record shop requires significant investment, not only to enhance the environment of our students but to improve the customer experience.

As you can see from the photos, it's been another busy few days here at RPM!

Jamie looks overjoyed in having to go through and price up all those CDs - we didn't know he was such a good actor!

Eurovision happened. Less said about our entry and results the better we think! But the students have enjoyed the process of picking countries and researching the flags. They make a colourful display in our learning room don't you think?

Money has been the theme this week and how we all spend it. So the students have been learning about expenditure and change given. As you can see, Shelley was getting to grips with her worksheet brilliantly!

It's all change on our shop front! New shop and window signage went on this week (thanks to Spyder Creative Ltd) and the shop is being completely re-painted in the first week of June. It should look amazing once completed!

Lastly, we would like to wish Susie and the team next door; Dungeons & Dice the very best for their open day tomorrow (Saturday). Do make sure you support them!

Well obviously we started our week by discussing our brilliant 10th Anniversary Party! Everyone agreed that they had a fantastic time, some of us were still a bit sore from all the dancing!

On Wednesday we were back partying again at our Pizza and Karaoke night. We had some party tunes, some ballads and even some dancing. We sure do have some party animals here!

Its not all been fun and games we have also been hard at work with our learning, focusing on money this week. Working out different values and amounts and counting change from £5, all of which will help us with serving you in our shop.

Our charity director Lou and student Sam have been to Forelands Fields School in Ramsgate for their Transitions Careers Fair, hoping to meet some new recruits!

And finally we've been getting into the Eurovision spirit. We have each picked two countries out of a hat to see who is going to be the winner, then we found our countries flags and researched what colours they were so we could create some Eurovision bunting. Unfortunately some peoples countries have already been knocked out the competition, and in one case, both of them, sorry Lou!

We hope everyone enjoys the Eurovision over the weekend and we can't wait to see which one of us has the winning country!

What an amazing night we had on Saturday at our 10th Big Birthday Bash!

The Oak Grove in Upchurch was an absolutely magical place, the food from Seasalt & Relish was utterly delicious, A2 Barn Dance Band added a huge amount of fun to the proceedings and DJ Dave Bowles brought some banging tunes!

Everyone's kind support in attending, and contribution to our raffle (those who donated prizes, those who purchased tickets and those who did both!) made it a huge success and after all our costs, we were able to raise over £500. As I'm sure you know, the Fenner Frost Foundation is a relatively small charity, and so this amount is vital in continuing to support our work with our students.

We'll be posting more photos over the next couple of weeks but here's a little taster of the evening...
