Thinking about leaving education but not ready to leave children behind?

What if you could use your skills on your own terms?

For the past seven years, our NHS-commissioned emotional wellbeing programme has supported children through key transitions, helping them build emotional literacy, resilience and healthy relationships.

We now work with 50+ schools each year and are expanding across the UK.

We're looking for teachers, TAs, nursery practitioners and education professionals who want to work for themselves and run the programme in their local area.

Therapists can also run this program with their little clients.

Training starts in August, with a 3-month licence to help you decide if it's the right fit. Work it around your current role if that’s better for you?

If September could be the start of a different kind of career, message me this week for an informal chat.

Is your child worried about school, preparing to start school, struggling with anxiety, SEND, or EBSA? They're not alone — and neither are you.

Meet EMI — the pocket-sized beanie companion grounded in child development and transition research, designed to help children feel calmer, safer, and more confident in everyday life, school and during school moves.

EMI and the message has been commissioned by the NHS in Lancashire and is currently supporting preschool children as they prepare for Reception.

But EMI's impact doesn't stop there. Children across primary school can benefit from having a trusted companion to help them understand emotions, build confidence, manage worries, and feel more secure during challenging transitions and daily routines.

Through child-friendly short audio stories, EMI helps children explore feelings such as anxiety, overwhelm, uncertainty, and fear in ways they can understand.

This can be particularly valuable for children with SEND, those experiencing school anxiety, and children affected by EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).

✨ Order your EMI today and receive 4 wellbeing audio stories designed to nurture emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence, and school readiness.

EMI is keeping busy this half term, so don't miss out.

Order yours at www.headssup.co.uk

Because every child deserves to feel understood, emotionally supported, and confident enough to thrive.

Starting Reception is a HUGE step for little people 💛

That’s why we created Emi — our super soft emotional intelligence beanie designed to help children feel safe, confident and emotionally ready for school.

Grounded in child development research, Emi supports children with:

✨ everyday emotions
✨ separation worries
✨ friendship building
✨ school transitions

Used at home and in schools, Emi helps children carry comfort and confidence into change.

* lucky pre schoolers in all Endeavour Learning Trust schools will receive one of these again this year - if you are a school or Trust please contact [email protected] to discuss the same for your little learners *

Because emotionally ready children are more ready to learn.

Exciting news! 🎉

For the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing school trust:
supporting Year 6 learners with transition sessions and
working closely with EYFS teams across all of their schools to help pre-schoolers “get ready for school with Emi” and transition confidently into Reception.

The Trust uses Headssup as part of its transition strategy, and has recently been recognised by the Department for Education for bucking the national trend for its attendance data.

So, here’s the exciting part…

At next month’s Northern Attendance Conference as part of the Trust’s strategy Headssup may be showcased 🙌

We’re incredibly proud to be part of such impactful work.

A huge congratulations to all Year 6 pupils completing their SATs this week 👏

As schools now begin preparing pupils for the next big step — transition to high school — it’s a reminder that successful transition is about far more than academic readiness alone.

At Headssup, we continue to work with schools across Lancashire delivering our NHS-commissioned Year 6 transition programme, helping pupils feel confident, connected and emotionally prepared for Year 7.

And we love helping EYFS children prepare to move in to reception too - helping parents and children 'get reception ready with Emi'.

We’re proud to continue our work alongside transition specialists, partners including Lancaster University, and schools within a very successful trust , whose transition and attendance work is being recognised nationally, with Headssup being a part of their strategy.

Each year, we also recognise schools going the extra mile for transition through our Headssup Transition Award logo.

Bronze for year 1
Silver for year 2 and
Gold for year 3 - celebrating continued commitment to Transition.

There is still limited availability for May, June & July 2026 bookings.

This was a while ago but still a good one to share!

1 americano and a fabulous gypsy king please :)

Tommy was there too - how lucky was I?

Bumped in to The Gypsy King earlier in Starbucks. What a lovely guy he is! He was happy to take photos and sign autographs along with Tommy Fury and another member of their team.

As the owner of a children’s emotional well-being education company I have a lot of respect for how open Tyson Fury has been about his struggles with his mental health.

Lovely to meet you all!

Happy Sunday!

Can I ask you a question over your morning coffee?

Do you, or your partner or your children feel heard?

If the answer is no, you may not be talking the same emotional language.

What if, after 10 minutes, you knew and could make sense of some fundamental things that could help you, your family, your students or staff to:

understand the emotions they were born with in age appropriate ways

understand where the other emotions come from and how to ‘sort’ them

understand why we feel the way we feel

Start to identify, understand and communicate this in age appropriate ways.

Would that help?

Could that help in every day situations aswell as during times of transition or big life adjustments?

If the answer if yes keep reading 😀

After several years delivering emotional wellbeing and transition programmes with schools — including previous NHS commissioning and ongoing collaboration with school trusts and Lancaster University research —we’re now beginning conversations about regional delivery partnerships.

The programmes focus on:

• EYFS emotional wellbeing and transition

• Year 6 transition and emotional resilience

We’re particularly interested in connecting with:

• education consultants

• SEMH and wellbeing professionals

• MAT inclusion leads

• former senior leaders working with schools

• organisations already delivering training or support into education settings

The aim is to build a small number of strong regional partnerships with professionals who already have trusted relationships with schools and are looking to expand their impact.

If that sounds relevant to your work, feel free to message me for a conversation.

Emi is our mascot, is gender neutral and short for emotional literacy. Emi is multicoloured to help children easily ‘find the words’ and is pocket sized for reassurance and resilience.

How far can we take Emi together?

I’d love to hear from you. [email protected]

Yesterday marked the culmination of nine months of collaboration and creativity with the talented design students at Lancaster University.

Last September, we partnered with the aim of creating something for Year 6 transition that went beyond the traditional booklet or assembly approach.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of seeing the final result — and I was genuinely blown away.

After multiple visits to the university, countless emails, and many discussions and decisions along the way, I watched five design students present their project from their ‘Reignite Studios’ at the university.

What they delivered and how they presented it, was exceptional.

They created an innovative board game template that brings together all of the content from the Headssup evidenced based transition booklet — a resource I deliver to more than 1,000 Year 6 pupils each year.

This is now a brand-new resource that can help Year 6 pupils prepare for secondary school in evidence-based ways, while making the transition process more engaging, interactive, and accessible.

I can already see the potential impact this could have across mainstream schools, Virtual Schools, SEMH settings, children with SEND, school trusts, hospital schools, and holiday clubs.

Seeing their ideas, creativity, and commitment come to life was inspiring, and I’m incredibly proud to have been part of the journey. And they were so lovely to work with!!

These students will go far!! 👏👏🤩

So a huge thank you to Anna, Ginoe, Millie, Mia and Yiru!! And thank you to their tutors David and Lisa!!

If there are any UK-based board game manufacturers out there, please reach out!
