I was just touching the soft grass, bringing her cool bugs to look at and noticing the tiny beautiful things.
. but i’m old enough now to understand what was behind the camera.
The patience.
The pride.
The tenderness.
The joy of simply watching your child exist.
In a pocket of peace where nothing existed but love.
Despite the troubles, pain, trauma ….
Just my mother’s gentle, unwavering love, watching me with the same eyes all along.
Sometimes gratitude is so pure it feels like grief’s twin; not because something is gone, but because you suddenly understand how precious it is that it’s here.
The more deeply we allow ourselves to feel each moment, each season, and each chapter of life, the more fully ourselves we become.
