π€ CERVICOGENIC HEADACHES: COULD YOUR NECK BE THE CAUSE?
Did you know that some headaches can originate from problems in the neck?
Common signs and symptoms include:
πΉ Pain starting at the base of the skull and spreading towards the forehead or behind the eye
πΉ Headache usually affecting one side of the head
πΉ Neck stiffness or reduced range of movement
πΉ Pain aggravated by certain neck movements or prolonged postures
πΉ Associated neck or shoulder discomfort
π How can osteopathy help?
As an osteopath, I take a detailed history and assess neck movement, function, and symptoms to help determine whether the neck may be contributing to your headaches.
Depending on the findings, management may include appropriate hands-on treatment, tailored exercises, and advice on posture and movement.
β οΈ Remember: Not all headaches originate from the neck. New, unusual, or worsening headaches should be medically assessed. A sudden, extremely severe headache or one accompanied by weakness, confusion, or speech difficulties requires emergency medical attention.
π© Suffering from recurring headaches or neck stiffness? Get in touch to discuss whether an assessment may be appropriate for you.
