every clients special plans - dress, venue, flower arrangements, colour schemes - I love it all! From as young as I can remember I have had a fascination with hair. As a child I would analyse all different hair styles and try and work out how to recreate them on my Girls World dolls head. At the age of 15 I started work experience in a local hair salon where my passion developed further (I even started cutting my sisters' hair). So shortly after I left school I decided to train in hair dressing and received my NVQ 1 & 2. I then settled down with my now husband and we had our two beautiful children. Having always known I would love to do wedding hair, once the kids started school I decided to get really stuck into it with the help of some fantastic people in the industry. I believe it's always good to learn and I love to update my techniques and skills to move with the current trends. I now have a diploma in hair extension application and long hair techniques with Patrick Cameron (a worldwide leading hair stylist)

I am also very proud of the fact that I have been a finalist in 'The Essex Wedding Award' for the past three years and was also regionally shortlisted in the top 5 hair stylists for the East of England in the '2014 The Wedding industry award' . I also live for our annual family holiday. Michelle x

Can we just take a moment for this absolutely stunning bridesmaid?! 😍✨

Honestly, one of those faces that made me think she could have stepped straight out of a modelling campaign.

She mentioned that her skin had had a little breakout in the lead-up to the wedding, so I used airbrush makeup to give her the coverage she wanted while keeping the finish lightweight, fresh and skin-like.

We went for a soft smoky wing, cat-eye lashes, glowing skin and a soft lip, and I just LOVE how everything worked with her dark hair and incredible green eyes. 🖤

And the hair... one of my favourite styles to create and such a popular look at the moment, a soft, tousled Pammy twist, with plenty of texture and those effortless face-framing pieces. 😍

I only wish I'd captured her reaction when she saw the finished look because she was absolutely over the moon, those reactions are genuinely one of my favourite parts of this job. 🥹

Beautiful Jessica 🤍

I had the absolute pleasure of getting Jessica ready for hers and James' wedding at Downham Hall Essex on Friday, after she came to me as a fairly last-minute bridal booking.

We only made a few tweaks from her recent trial, but it's amazing how those little changes can bring the whole look together.

Jessica wanted more height and volume through the crown, with a nod to those gorgeous Priscilla Presley vibes 🖤 We paired it with a soft smoky wing, cat-eye lashes and lightweight airbrush makeup for flawless coverage while keeping her skin looking fresh.

For her lips, we used Jessica's own favourite everyday lipstick, a beautiful peachy tone tied in with a soft peach blush. I love incorporating something a bride already knows she feels good in.

And I think the finished look suited her perfectly. She looked absolutely beautiful. 🤍

I also had the pleasure of doing Jackie, the mother of the groom's, hair and makeup. Jackie doesn't usually wear much makeup and was a little apprehensive, so I'm very glad she joined us at the trial. Seeing how happy she was with the finished result was one of my favourite moments. 🥰 I didn't manage to get a photo of her, so I can't wait to see the professional images!

This was also my first time at beautiful Downham Hall. Such a lovely intimate venue, with an incredibly attentive and welcoming team.

And in a funny little coincidence, it was also my first time working with photographer Jessica Rose, so we had two Jessica Roses at the same wedding! 😂 It was lovely meeting and working alongside her.

Then to wake up to Jessica's gorgeous review afterwards... 🤍

Some weddings change the way you see your work forever... 🤍

In 18 years of weddings, I'd never had the privilege of working with a blind bride before, and it became one of the most humbling experiences of my career.

I realised this experience relied on something far more important than mirrors.

It relied on trust.

Jasmine lost her sight at the age of eight after cancer, but she knew how she wanted to feel on her wedding day. Rather than asking her to look in a mirror, I described each step, and she felt each hairstyle as we created it until it felt right.

It was a powerful reminder that beauty isn't just something we see...

It's something we feel.

One of my favourite details was her canes. Her everyday cane is called Belinda, her wedding cane became Bride Linda, and her sparkly disco cane was Bop Linda. They perfectly reflected her warmth, humour and personality.

Jasmine is also a disability advocate and actress. At 21, she moved from China to the UK alone to pursue her dream, which I found inspiring.

This wedding also introduced me to new experiences, including working with Grant, her non-binary partner, and celebrating alongside many neurodivergent guests. Every couple deserves to feel understood, respected and celebrated.

After the wedding, Jasmine encouraged me to share this experience, saying:

"The more exposure people get to disabled people, the better society will be."

This wedding reminded me that my job isn't simply to create beautiful hair and makeup. It's to truly understand the person sitting in my chair and create something that feels authentically them.

It's about listening, communicating and building trust.

And it's about helping someone become the version of themselves they already imagined.

Still thinking about this beautiful surprise wedding from earlier this month 🤍

What guests thought was a lovely celebration for Bex & Andy’s 10-year anniversary… turned out to secretly be their wedding day ✨🥹

Bex wanted hair and makeup that felt elevated but still completely like her — soft, radiant, comfortable, and natural-feeling. Using airbrush makeup meant we could create that flawless finish while still keeping everything lightweight, which is exactly why so many of my brides love it 🤍

I absolutely love these little moments captured from the morning — especially Bex applying her lipstick in the mirror herself ✨ She’d gone along to choose the perfect red lipstick for the day and, as part of the experience, was shown techniques and tips for applying it herself — something she really enjoyed and wanted to recreate on the wedding morning. And honestly… she absolutely nailed it ❤️

And this gorgeous selfie with the bridal party captures the makeup so beautifully… those blue eyes absolutely pop 💙

Such a lovely, relaxed morning to be part of — and such a special way to celebrate ten years together 🥹✨

There’s a little context behind why I’m spending part of my winter here, and it felt worth sharing.

Over the last year or so, my focus has been split — bridal hair and makeup has still very much been ongoing, but a huge amount of my time and energy has also gone into building The Harmonious Healing Hubs behind the scenes.

It’s something I truly believe in, and something that’s already changing people’s lives — we’re constantly receiving messages and voice notes from people sharing how much we've helped them, and that makes every sacrifice worth it.

Because I’ve chosen to reinvest so heavily into building that bigger picture, I’ve kept my own living costs incredibly simple. During December, January and February, that’s meant living in a small touring caravan — basic, but manageable, and something I’m completely capable of doing if it supports what I’m building long-term.

But this winter, I asked myself a different question:
How can I continue doing the hair and makeup work I love, while also supporting myself more sustainably alongside everything else I’m creating?
That’s what led me here, Thailand 🇹🇭

Not as an escape, and not as a luxury — but as a practical, work-led decision to continue offering hair and makeup seasonally, expand where I can work, and create a bit more ease while still pouring energy into something that supports so many others.

We’re now fully registered as a CIC, with directors in place, which means we can finally move forward with funding and start investing in all the right places. There’s a real sense of momentum building — and when I’m back, things are set to move a lot faster.

I still love what I do.
I’ve just learnt that sometimes the way you work — and where you work — can evolve to support the bigger picture.
And while the path might not always look conventional, it feels deeply aligned.

The last five days have been an absolute whirlwind ✨
I’ve been on set doing hair & makeup for the upcoming TV pilot .tv working alongside with an incredible team of creatives.

One of our shooting days was at — which just so happens to be one of mine and my friend’s favourite stomping grounds. And the universe clearly has jokes, because the song they used for the dance scene is the song me and my bestie request EVERYWHERE… complete with our very questionable signature dance move 🙈💃🏼

I told this while I was doing her makeup, and she said, “Go on then… show me!”
So I did.
And yes… she filmed it 😂

But the synchronicities kept coming.
In the middle of chatting, I mentioned the other business I’m building — — and she asked if we were a CIC. I said yes… and she told me that outside of acting, she actually helps CICs secure funding.

She then said something that hit me deeply:
“You’re living in alignment, aren’t you?”

And honestly… it really feels like I am.
Everything keeps lining up.
The right people keep appearing.
And the universe keeps sending little winks like this one.

I’ve spent years keeping my online space polished and professional, but the truth is:
I am professional — and I’m also a complete goofball who loves a silly dance and a good laugh.
Maybe it’s time I start sharing that too. ✨
