Your maternity unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays.

If you notice a reduction in your baby’s movements, or if something doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t wait. Don’t worry about bothering anyone or think you’re overreacting. You know your baby best, and it’s always better to get checked.

Reduced movements can sometimes be a sign that your baby is unwell or in distress and it is important this is checked immediately. Midwives will be available around the clock to assess your baby and give you the care you need.

If you are away from home you can attend any maternity unit in the UK

Trust your instincts. If you’re concerned, contact your maternity unit straight away.

Today at 7pm, families all around the world light candles in memory of the children they hold in their hearts.

The varying time zones around the globe mean that a beautiful 'wave of light' is created, and for one night - the entire world is lit up with candles that shine for our babies. Acknowledging their lives, acknowledging our loss, and giving us all the courage to say their names and share their stories.

Please join us at 7pm in lighting a candle for the loved ones who left too soon.
