Blessed Lughnasadh! 🌾✨

Today marks the turning of the wheel and the arrival of Lughnasadh, the first of the three autumn harvest festivals.

As we cross the threshold into August, the days are still warm, but the light is subtly shifting, whispering of the cooler months to come. This is the sacred midpoint between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox—a powerful moment to pause and reflect on abundance, gratitude, and the cyclical nature of life.

Historically and spiritually, this sabbath honors two great themes:
🌾The First Fruits & Grain Harvest: The fields are heavy with wheat, barley, and corn. It’s a time to celebrate the culmination of months of hard work, sunshine, and rain.
☀️The Legacy of Lugh & Tailtiu: In Celtic tradition, we honor the skilled god Lugh and remember his foster mother, Tailtiu, who cleared the ancient forests of Ireland so her people could grow food, literally giving her life to the earth in the process.

Ways to observe today:
🥖Bake Bread: Honor the spirit of the first harvest by baking your own bread, visualizing your own hard work and goals manifesting into tangible results.
🔮Reflect & Reap: Ask yourself: What seeds did I plant in the spring? What am I harvesting in my life right now?
❤️Give Thanks: Leave a small offering of bread, grain, or cider back to the earth in gratitude for its sustaining bounty.
🧵Crafting: Make corn dollies or simple wheat weavings to symbolize the spirit of the grain carried through the winter.
