Why weight loss jabs wind me up so much
What really annoys me about the GLP-1 conversation is not the medication itself.
It is the mentality around it.
The desperation for a magic pill.
The hope that this will finally work without effort.
The idea that you can keep all the same habits, avoid the gym, avoid the hard conversations, avoid the structure, and still somehow come out healthier.
That is fantasy.
I work 60+ hours a week.
I do not have loads of spare time either.
That is why I have systems.
Same breakfast most days.
Meal prep at the weekend.
Go-to shopping list.
Training in the diary like a work meeting.
No emotion involved.
That is how adults stay on track.
Not by wandering through the week hoping motivation turns up.
And maybe that is why this topic gets under my skin.
Because I watch people say they “do not have time” to do the basics, then happily find £300+ a month for a jab that lets them postpone dealing with the real issue.
No structure.
No routine.
No accountability.
No plan.
Just another shortcut.
And the really sad bit is people normalise the decline while it is happening.
They drive more.
Walk less.
Buy bigger clothes.
Choose slip-on shoes because bending over is getting annoying.
Use their hands to get out of a chair and do not even clock what that says about the path they are on.
Then one day they are out of breath doing something that should be easy and they act shocked.
You thought you were fine, until one day you were not.
