A small but well chosen selection of remedies is invaluable for going away on holiday.
Arnica - this stays in my bag at all times anyway, home or away. Brilliant for injuries with bruises, swelling, soreness, mechanical injuries without any lacerations.
Apis - stings and bites which become red, hot and swollen. Also useful for allergic reactions of a similar nature.
Arsenicum - in a 12c potency for food poisoning
Belladonna - fevers, colds, sore throats, headaches from exposure to draughts of cold air. Symptoms tend to be more right sided, with red, hot throbbing feelings and a violent onset.
Ferrum Phos 6x - first sign of any inflammation, feelings of general unwellness. I
Calendula - an antiseptic wash in tincture form (good replacement for dettol/tcp) for cuts, abrasions & lacerations. A great healer and helps prevent pus formation.
Cantharis - second degree burns
Nux Vomica - upset tummies from overindulgence
I will probably also pack :
Rhus Tox - Sprains and strains. Stiff, sore muscles. Worse from first movement, better for continued motion
Cocculus - For the dread ferry journey. A fantastic remedy for sea and motion sickness. Good to take as a prophylactic a few weeks before if you tend to suffer in this way.
Urtica Urens - great for first degree burns. sunburn, itchy skin rashes, hives. Can be used in low potency or as a cream.
