“Do you have to take photos of me?” 📸

For many treatments, yes! Clinical photography forms an important part of your assessment, treatment - as well as my own planning and record keeping.

But those photographs are not automatically marketing content ❌

If you don’t want your images shared on social media, my website or anywhere else publicly, that is completely fine ✅

Your clinical photographs can remain private and be used solely as part of your confidential patient record.

Of course, I absolutely love showing your lovely faces off! So if you’re totally comfortable with it - that’s a bonus! For a happy medium, we’re always happy to anonymise images as much as possible!

But if you’re a bit self-conscious, shy, or just want to keep your treatments offline (👀) that’s no problem either 🤍✨

If lines or wrinkles are something you’d like to address, we absolutely can discuss them at The Skin Welfare Clinic, but there isn’t one blanket treatment that’s right for everybody 👀

Your starting point is always a consultation. We’ll look at the areas bothering you, how your face moves, your medical history, what kind of result you’re hoping for and which options may actually be appropriate for you.

Some treatments used for certain types of wrinkles are prescription-only, which means they can’t simply be advertised, recommended online or booked like a filler.

They need to be considered properly following a consultation with an appropriate practitioner like myself.

I’m here to give you honest advice, appropriate options and a result that still looks like you 🤍✨

I’m sorry. I know it’s September. Please don’t shoot the messenger 🙈

But this is the point in the year where my diary starts doing that slightly terrifying thing where suddenly all the “I’ll book nearer Christmas” appointments become…there are no appointments nearer Christmas that make any sense for what you’re needing done.

If you know you’ve got parties, events, Christmas plans or a NYE do and there’s a treatment you’d like beforehand, now is the time to start thinking about it.

And I don’t just mean because of availability.

Depending on what you’re having done, we need to allow enough time for treatment, recovery, results to settle and, where appropriate, any follow-up. I do not want to be treating you three days before your Christmas party while we both cross our fingers 😂

As a general rule, give yourself at least a couple of weeks’ breathing room between your appointment and an important event, potentially longer depending on the treatment.

So there. I’ve said the C-word & it’s September. A record perhaps but the earlier I say it the more prepared my patients are!

Sixteen weeks to Christmas. Please plan ahead so December me doesn’t have to disappoint you 😂🤍

One of the things I’m probably most known for is being a perfectionist. I’ll happily spend longer assessing, planning and tweaking because I’d much rather create a result that looks completely at home on your face than something that screams “I’ve had work done.”

And when this kind of feedback comes from someone who works in the beauty industry herself, it means even more!

“What am I going to look like straight after treatment?” 💬

It’s one of the most common questions we get with IPL and resurfacing , so here’s the reality ➡️ 📸

These images were taken immediately after treatment, and as you can see, the skin can look red and flushed afterwards. Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a mild sunburn.

You may also notice some dryness as the skin settles over the following days, which is completely normal.

Aftercare matters too. We recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure for around 4 weeks after treatment and being diligent with your SPF while the skin recovers.

We also stock Lynton Skin Soothe, which can be purchased after treatment if you’d like a little extra support. It’s designed to cool and hydrate the skin while helping to calm inflammation and keep things comfortable.

The key thing to remember? Post-treatment redness is temporary! ✨

We’ll always talk you through what to expect before your appointment, how your skin may look afterwards and exactly how to care for it at home 🤍
