POWERbreathe - Official site POWERbreathe Inspiratory Muscle Training. As you breathe in through POWERbreathe, you breathe in against an adjustable, calibrated resistance.

Breath by breath, our world leading, clinically proven, drug-free respiratory muscle training devices help you to breathe better for health, wellness, sport, and performing arts. POWERbreathe works closely with experts in breathing physiology from around the globe and has developed a range of cutting edge breathing training, monitoring and testing devices. POWERbreathe uses the same principals as

resistance training and is often referred to as “dumbbells for your diaphragm”. This makes your inspiratory muscles work harder. This concept of training is called Inspiratory Muscle Training or IMT. POWERbreathe training has been proven to improve sports performance, improve fitness and reduce breathlessness.

30 breaths. That’s it 🫁

Dr Sabrina Brar shares how she trains her breathing with Inspiratory Muscle Training (IMT), and what the research says about building strong breathing muscles.

Link in bio for more on the recent research showing measurable improvements in inspiratory muscle strength in as little as 4 weeks.

💨Inspiratory muscle pressure rose +44% in 4 weeks
💨Peak inspiratory flow +22%
💨S-INDEX +25%

A few minutes. Twice a day 💙

Breathwork or breathing training? Why not both? 🫁

We caught up with Coach, to unpack an important distinction: breathwork can help us change how we breathe, while respiratory muscle training specifically works to strengthen the muscles we breathe with.

Different tools. Different purposes. Both can have a place.

As interest in breathing continues to grow, understanding that difference matters.

Thanks Anthony for helping us bridge the gap. 🙌

This on repeat.

Make it part of the routine 🫁

At your desk. After your morning coffee. Before training. While the kettle boils.

30 breaths, twice a day. A few minutes that can fit almost anywhere.

The best routine? The one you’ll actually stick to.

The best training tool? The one you remember to use. 🫁

Bedside table. Desk. Gym bag. Wherever you’ll see it.

Making IMT part of your routine can be as simple as keeping your POWERbreathe somewhere you’ll actually use it.

All month we’ve been talking about recovery, so what happens when the training stops? 🫁

New research in women with stable COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) looked at IMT, aerobic exercise and importantly, what happened during two weeks of detraining.

Combined IMT + aerobic exercise produced the broadest short-term improvements, but several outcomes began to decline once training stopped.

A useful reminder that respiratory muscle training, like any muscle training, is about more than making progress, it’s about maintaining it too.

The study used the POWERbreathe Classic for IMT, with inspiratory flow and volume assessed using the POWERbreathe K5.
