Recovery isn't always about the big milestones. Often, it's the small, consistent steps taken every day that make the greatest difference.
Here you can see one of our clients and their rehabilitation assistant, working hard on both paper-based and practical skills. The combination of both approaches can provide more variety when practicing skills.
Structured cognitive rehabilitation activities help support concentration, problem-solving, memory, and decision-making skills, all tailored to the individual's goals and abilities.
While on the other hand, a therapy-led walk through the park provides valuable opportunities to develop and maintain a range of important skills, including:
~Independent mobility
~Environmental awareness and risk management
~Navigating obstacles safely
~Graded exposure to unpredictable surroundings
~Visual processing and scanning skills
~Building confidence in the community
At Peartree Community Services, we understand that successful rehabilitation happens when therapy goals are integrated into everyday life. By supporting clients in meaningful activities within their own communities, we can help maximise independence, confidence, and quality of life.
