Here's exactly what happens after Haelo detects a fall.

Haelo is a smart ring built to detect emergencies in aging parents, from falls to cardiac events, and alert their family the moment something happens.

The path is simple. The ring senses the event and sends it to either a plug-in Haelo Hub, or a smartphone, whichever you prefer. An alert is then sent to your care circle with what happened and where. If the first person on the list doesn't respond, it moves to the next.

No call centre in between. Just your people, notified fast.

Medical alert systems often cost more than families can afford. Haelo is built to be different.

One of our founding missions is that safety tech should be accessible to as many families as possible. So we rethought every part of the cost structure.

This includes purpose-built hardware with no unnecessary components. Alerts that go directly to a care circle of family and caregivers, rather than a third-party call centre with the associated costs baked into every bill. Cloud-based detection that runs the heavy processing remotely. And we sell direct, so avoid middleman inflation.

Options like Life Alert start at price points beyond the reach of many families, and tie users into 3-year contracts. Haelo is disrupting this model. You can read more in our latest blogpost https://haelohealth.com/blog/life-alert-cost-alternatives

Life Alert costs $49.95–$89.95/month on a 3-year contract. See full pricing, hidden fees, and 5 cheaper alternatives with fall detection.

A month ago we launched Haelo's first care home pilot using our prototype hardware.

16 residents and wearable devices, 21 Haelo hubs, 1 brilliant care home!

We are excited by the results, and have written up what we we've learned so far, as well as where we go from here.

If you work in care, have a loved one in a care home, or are just curious about how it's going this may be of interest https://haelohealth.com/blog/burleigh-care-home-pilot-launch

Haelo's first care home pilot has been running for a month. Sixteen residents at Burleigh House in Hertfordshire are wearing Haelo continuously, with their data flowing to the care team through our dashboard. Here's what we've learned.

For anyone working in aging tech, few organisations carry more weight than AARP.

Which is why Haelo’s acceptance into the competitive AgeTech Collaborative from AARP Accelerator Program is so exciting for us!

We’ve joined a new cohort of early-stage longevity tech startups for 8 weeks of strategic guidance, consumer research, and connections across the space.

AARP is the world's largest organisation for people 50+, and being selected as part of this cohort is a milestone that means a great deal to the whole team.

"Isn't this just another Oura ring?"

Haelo is different: it detects health events and sends live alerts.

Every other smart ring tracks your health retrospectively. Great for step counts. Not so good for emergencies!

Haelo detects falls, cardiac events, and emergencies, then alerts your family automatically. That's its only job.

And that changes every engineering decision.

Haelo uses bluetooth connectivity for real-time alerts, not just passive backdated tracking. The signet shape keeps sensors consistently positioned for reliable readings. Every design choice, built for one purpose.

Fitness rings are great at what they are designed for. We just do something completely different. 🩵

To build true life protection into a wearable, you have to make it the sole mission. Every sensor, every milliamp, every design decision must serve one purpose: helping save a life.

A ring can detect a fall. But what does it connect to when there's no smartphone nearby?

That's the problem the Haelo Hub solves.

Last week Artur Kenzhaev visited Artscan3d in Southampton, where the brilliant Ben Levings has been manufacturing the custom enclosures for our Hub - a Bluetooth gateway that connects Haelo wearables to the cloud.

Medical alert wearables end up in drawers. We wanted to build something people actually wear.

Haelo is a smart ring that detects medical emergencies and alerts your family automatically. Discreet enough to wear every day, powerful enough to save a life.

It's the first smart ring with fall detection. The signet shape keeps sensors positioned consistently for reliable readings and houses a larger battery for 7+ day life. Antenna positioning optimises range, and our LED stone gives visual feedback.

Meet the Haelo team! Alex, Artur, and Geoff đź‘‹

They went looking for a smart ring that could protect their parents in an emergency. Couldn't find one. So they're building it.

The medical alert industry calls it “non-compliance.”

We call it design failure.

If a safety device ends up in a drawer, it isn’t protecting anyone.

After our co-founder Alexander lost his dad, he started digging into why so many seniors refuse to wear the devices meant to protect them.

What he found surprised him.

Stigma.
Battery anxiety.
The expectation to press a button when you can’t.

We’ve written a deeper breakdown here

Is your parent refusing to wear their medical alert device? We analyzed why traditional devices fail seniors and explore the rise of 'invisible' protection via smart rings.

“Isn't this basically just another Oura ring?"
"Can't Apple Watch do this already?"

We get asked this all the time. And we understand why!

The short answer: no.

To build a device that truly saves lives, you have to sacrifice everything else. You can't have a bright screen. You can't have breathing exercises. You can't have a battery that dies in 18 hours.

Our CTO, Artur Kenzhaev, explains why we refused to build "just another smart ring” - and why we built Haelo from first principles to do one thing only: protect the people you love.
