Mandalas
ποΈ I recently got out my drawing pad and fine liner pens, and created this mandala.
π¨ It's been a long time since I've spent time drawing, doodling and painting. To which I LOVE doing all of these things.
π§ I've been into creativity since I was a child, but it wasn't until several years ago I realised I was using it along with hula hooping as my way of meditation. Looking back and reflecting on my younger years I noticed I did also delve deeper into creativity in times of need, when life around me was tough.
π³ I struggled with feeling very intense emotions and expressing these deep emotions in the best way, and so I kept them inside in the fear they would come out badly. Zoning out, creating, quietening my mind really helped when I painted and I had some me time.
π Creativity is very therapeutic and benefitial to us, helping to improve our mental wellbeing!!
π The process for me and what I've noticed in others is either the want to do it or a feeling that they can't do it. For me I've always wanted to express myself this way and learn and play with new methods. I've found it a wonderful challenge to encourage others to give it a go and they really enjoyed it having had that push and being given the time and space to try, it's something I believe everyone can do, in the best way that suits them. It doesn't have to be painting, it can be in many things, poetry, photography, making, crafting, tech, cooking and the list goes on....
π I'd like to thank the amazingly talanted Artist Amanda for teaching me to create my own mandalas, during the wonderful Spanish Hoop Convention in Girona Spain.
β€οΈ I'd love to know what ways you express yourself creatively and how it benefits you?
