Othona Community at Bradwell on Sea, Essex, is a place where everybody is welcome, from all walks of life and ages. A lot of workshops and activites are proposed throughout the year (appreciation of nature and animals, music, festivals, stargazing, daily celebrations in the chapel or meditation).

Our self led Autumn Watch (21-24 Sept) is a mid week break to enjoy nature. Bring your binoculars and spot the oystercatchers at low tide. Or just sit on the stoep and watch the birds feed at our bird table.

We had a wonderful week of Time to Simply Be. After a busy summer season, it was an opportunity for the community to relax, with no planned activities - other than the usual routines of chapel, washing up, swimming and veg prep! Thank you to our volunteer chefs Leo and Ann for the wonderful meals.

During our 80th Celebrations we were joined by Colin Hodgetts, formerly a Warden at Othona Bradwell. He wrote the Othona Psalms in the 1970s and launched an updated Songs and Psalms for Changemakers - for the modern day - at Othona. Perhaps when you next visit, you will pick up a copy and learn one or two of them. Or buy a copy to take home (£10) and spread the word! Thank you Colin for your contributions to our birthday fortnight.

We had wonderful art activities during our 80th celebrations. Thank you Ann and Angenita for leading these. One activity was glass painting (add your own tea lights). Most people took theirs home, but here are some we found looking lovely amongst the vine leaves.
