A little look back at last weekend’s melt & pour soap workshop 🐝✨

What an incredible day! Seeing everyone get creative, experiment with colours, fragrances and designs, and leave with their own handmade soaps was such a rewarding experience.

As a small business owner, reaching the point where I can teach others and share the craft I love feels like a huge milestone. The enthusiasm, creativity and lovely feedback from everyone who attended made all the preparation completely worthwhile.

Thank you to everyone who joined me and made my very first workshop so special. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to host many more in the future.

Goodbye May, hello June.

The world is alive right now. The bees are busy gathering nectar, wildflowers are blooming, and the trees are standing in all their green glory. Nature is doing what it does best, thriving, growing and reminding us that every living thing has a role to play.

As we step into a new month, it’s worth taking a moment to slow down and notice it all. The hum of a bee, the shade of a tree, the flowers that brighten our paths. These aren’t things we should take for granted.

At Little Bee Soap Co, nature inspires everything we do, and June feels like the perfect reminder that small changes matter. Choosing to waste less, consume more thoughtfully, support ethical businesses and tread a little lighter on the planet can make a difference.

After all, we only have one Earth. Let’s take care of it. 🌍💚

Diary of a Soap Maker: May 🐝✨

May has been such a full and exciting month for Little Bee Soap Co! One of those months where you look back and feel incredibly grateful for how much is growing behind the scenes.

A big part of this month has been getting ourselves ready for Portsmouth Pride on 6th June, and we honestly can’t wait to be there. We’ve been busy preparing products, planning and getting everything together for what’s going to be a brilliant celebration.

We also had the pleasure of writing an article for the Funyard Events blog page, which will be going live soon, something we’re really excited to share when it’s out.

We kicked off the month by meeting the incredibly talented James Edward Marks to talk about a collaboration linked to the Transit of Venus project — something really special that’s beginning to take shape and will start unfolding over the next month. We’re really looking forward to sharing more on that soon.

There are also some lovely collaborations coming up with The Southsea Florist and with Home by Olive exclusive projects in the works that we can’t wait to show you. We’ve also been developing a new idea centred around celebrating the amazing women around us, something very close to our hearts.

One of our biggest milestones this month was holding our very first workshop alongside Sea Salt Studio and the Southsea Swim Makers Club Teaching 8 lovely ladies the art of melt and pour soap making was such a special experience, and seeing everyone’s creativity come to life was honestly brilliant. The feedback was wonderful and we already can’t wait for the next one.

We also attended our first Makers Market with Southsea Spirit which was such a lovely way to connect with people locally and share what we do.

This month also included a lovely meeting with Blooms to talk all things workshops, and we met with the incredible local leg to discuss stocking Little Bee Soap Co products, keep your eyes peeled next month for that one.

A huge thank you as well to a brilliant local baker bkeryportsmouth who helped us create a thoughtful gift for our business friends at Delivered Social, who also played a part in a little something special with us this month.

We also had a catch-up with the wonderful team at Spinnaker Tower to talk about our top-secret project, share ideas and top up their soap stock.

We met with local legend Herbies Health Store where we will be stocking our products next month!

And finally, we delivered more stock to the lovely Stay Lucky Southsea team in Southsea.

So much of this month has been built on collaboration, creativity and community — and honestly, we feel really grateful for every conversation, every opportunity and every person supporting this little business.

June is already looking incredibly exciting. 💛

This weekend I taught my very first melt & pour soap workshop… and I’m still smiling thinking about it.

It feels like a real milestone for Little Bee Soap Co. What started as making soap by hand from home has grown into an established business that’s now building a name for itself here in Portsmouth, and honestly that feels both overwhelming and incredibly special.

I had the pleasure of teaching such a lovely group of women, and watching everyone get creative and put their own touch into each soap was amazing. The finished creations were beautiful, and every single one felt unique.

One of the most rewarding parts was hearing the feedback afterwards. Everyone said they enjoyed the workshop and felt I taught clearly and made it easy to follow which was a lovely confidence boost for my first class.

I’m really proud of this step for the business. Workshops feel like such a natural extension of what Little Bee Soap Co is all about slowing down, creating with intention, learning something new and sharing skills with others.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such a lovely one.

Many more to come 🐝✨

You might be following Jon's mini-series of inviting clients, friends and sometimes complete strangers into our offices to build the LEGO USS Enterprise. We've seen tantrums, bad jokes, mistakes, and even the occasional restart of a previously 'completed'.

We've still got 4 spaces left for people who'd like to come in and be a part of the project, so if you fancy a go, we'd love to have you in.

Just drop us a message!
