Diary of a Soap Maker: May 🐝✨
May has been such a full and exciting month for Little Bee Soap Co! One of those months where you look back and feel incredibly grateful for how much is growing behind the scenes.
A big part of this month has been getting ourselves ready for Portsmouth Pride on 6th June, and we honestly can’t wait to be there. We’ve been busy preparing products, planning and getting everything together for what’s going to be a brilliant celebration.
We also had the pleasure of writing an article for the Funyard Events blog page, which will be going live soon, something we’re really excited to share when it’s out.
We kicked off the month by meeting the incredibly talented James Edward Marks to talk about a collaboration linked to the Transit of Venus project — something really special that’s beginning to take shape and will start unfolding over the next month. We’re really looking forward to sharing more on that soon.
There are also some lovely collaborations coming up with The Southsea Florist and with Home by Olive exclusive projects in the works that we can’t wait to show you. We’ve also been developing a new idea centred around celebrating the amazing women around us, something very close to our hearts.
One of our biggest milestones this month was holding our very first workshop alongside Sea Salt Studio and the Southsea Swim Makers Club Teaching 8 lovely ladies the art of melt and pour soap making was such a special experience, and seeing everyone’s creativity come to life was honestly brilliant. The feedback was wonderful and we already can’t wait for the next one.
We also attended our first Makers Market with Southsea Spirit which was such a lovely way to connect with people locally and share what we do.
This month also included a lovely meeting with Blooms to talk all things workshops, and we met with the incredible local leg to discuss stocking Little Bee Soap Co products, keep your eyes peeled next month for that one.
A huge thank you as well to a brilliant local baker bkeryportsmouth who helped us create a thoughtful gift for our business friends at Delivered Social, who also played a part in a little something special with us this month.
We also had a catch-up with the wonderful team at Spinnaker Tower to talk about our top-secret project, share ideas and top up their soap stock.
We met with local legend Herbies Health Store where we will be stocking our products next month!
And finally, we delivered more stock to the lovely Stay Lucky Southsea team in Southsea.
So much of this month has been built on collaboration, creativity and community — and honestly, we feel really grateful for every conversation, every opportunity and every person supporting this little business.
June is already looking incredibly exciting. 💛
