This surprises a lot of people.

One of the questions I’m often asked is:

“Do I need to have gel on my toes as well?”

The answer is no. 💗

In fact, I don’t offer gel polish.

Why?

Because my focus is on the health and condition of your feet.

Dry heels.
Hard skin.

PEOPLE OFTEN SEE A CONFIDENT BUSINESS OWNER.

I don’t always see her. 💗

Most days you’ll find me doing one of five things…

Working in the cabin.

Doing business admin.

Pottering around the garden.

Worrying I’m not doing enough for the business.

Or worrying I have not exercised . 😂

The truth is, five years ago I couldn’t have imagined any of this.

At the time, both of my children were extremely unwell and most of my energy went into simply getting through each day.

My plans were on hold.

My focus was on my family.

Back then, the idea of having a cabin in the garden and running my own business from it felt like something that belonged on a vision board.

In fact… it did.

I had a picture of a garden cabin stuck inside a kitchen cupboard door.

Fast forward to today and one child is at university, another is at college, and the other is doing her A- levels , and I’m writing this from that very cabin.

Life still isn’t perfect.

I still worry.

I still doubt myself.

I still wonder if I’ve done enough.

But when I look around at my family, my garden, my little cabin business and yes… lover boy too 😉…

I realise that sometimes we are so busy focusing on how far we still have to go, we forget how far we’ve already come.

Now… if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to wondering if I’ve done enough work today. 😘

Honestly? You really don’t.

Most women who come to see me are a little nervous.

They’re worried about the pain.
They’re worried it’ll be awkward.
They’re worried I’ll judge them because they haven’t had a wax in ages.

I won’t.

I’ve seen it all, and I’m far more interested in making you feel comfortable than inspecting your life choices. 😂

And do you know what I hear all the time afterwards?

Some evenings, after the cabin has gone quiet, I sit and wonder whether the little things I try to do each day really make a difference.

The other evening I was reading through some of my Google reviews and found myself smiling like an idiot in the cabin.

Not because of the stars.

But because every review is a real woman who chose Emilia’s Waxology and then took time out of her day to write something kind.

When you run a little business, that’s a pretty special thing.

2 years ago… this was me packing up at State 11 … absolutely bricking it.

Bed. Trolley. Wax. Bags everywhere.
Knowing I was making the right decision for my family…
but also knowing I was stepping into doing this more on my own.

And that felt big.

Because even though I’d worked independently before…
this was different.

More responsibility.
More pressure.
More on me.

But I was never truly on my own.

State 11 had my back then
and still do now 💗
And that kind of support? It stays with you.

Because here’s the bit people don’t say enough…

I’m still scared sometimes.

Scared of quiet weeks.
Scared of getting it wrong.
Scared of “what if this all stops working?”

But I did it anyway.
And I keep doing it anyway.

Now I’ve got my own little cabin,
my own space,
my own clients who trust me with the most personal treatments…

And it all started with this moment right here.
