This past week we've been getting crafty for autumn and Halloween. 🍂🎃 We made some salt dough and air-dry clay pumpkins and ghosts, 👻which we painted once dry. Even if we say so ourselves, we think they look fabulous. 👏🏻🙌🏻We've been cutting out ghosts to hang around with our autumn-inspired ornaments and are well on our way to being decorated and ready for Halloween. 💜

On Sunday, we celebrated the birthday 🎉🎈🥳 of our wonderful resident Ken. Ken celebrated with his wife, and everyone sang happy birthday to him. Ken then enjoyed a big slice of cake🍰🎂, which he seemed to enjoy very much. Many happy returns Ken from all of us at Beech Lodge. 🥳

Today some of our residents went out on the minibus 🚐. Jean had a wander through Baytree Garden Centre, enjoying all of the amazing Christmas Decorations 🎄🌌 and trying on a Santa hat for size🧑‍🎄. We stopped off to look through the pet department and attempted to get Alfie the parrot 🦜 to talk. We then headed home for lunch. After Lunch, Dave had a ride to Ayscoughfee Hall 🪴🎍 to have a walk around. We arranged to meet his wife, who joined us to look around the grounds, and then we stopped for the obligatory hot chocolate☕ at the cafe.

We started our day with a lung-busting karaoke session, 🎤singing to all the old classics, swaying and waving our arms. We followed that with a craft session, making some spooky window ghosts. 👻As it was the anniversary of Ken Dodd's Tears chart success, we put on An Audience with Ken Dodd while we worked, much to the joy of many of our residents. 💖💜

At Country Court, we like to celebrate the hard work of all our employees.🥰💖 Each month, we choose one employee to receive the Employee of the Month award. Sharanya was awarded Employee of the Month for July, and Santhosh was awarded Employee of the Month for August. 👏🏻🎉💜
Thank you both for all of your hard work and commitment to your role on the night shift.

In the past week, we took 3 of our residents, Keith, Mick and Dot, ten-pin bowling, 🎳which they thoroughly enjoyed. They played a couple of games and encouraged each other. 👏🏻The venue was very accommodating, asking the residents what music they would like to listen to and changing it accordingly, 🎶which we took full advantage of by singing along and dancing away too. What a fab day we all had. 💜

This week many of our residents have made a fantastic start on making some fabulous Halloween decorations 👻🎃. They painted some ghosts made from homemade air dry clay. They also made some more ghosts by wrapping some wool around books and then adding eyes and a mouth. They look fantastic and will look fabulous hanging around the home 👻.

Over the weekend, we celebrated Richard's birthday🎂🎈. He really enjoyed wearing the birthday hat🥳 and opening his cards 💌 with his brother. Richard celebrated with all of the staff singing🎶 " Happy Birthday " to him and sampling his beautiful birthday cake 🍰. Happy Birthday, Richard.

🎉 Celebrating an incredible 104 years! 🎂

On Friday, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our birthday queen, the amazing Dot, as she turned 104 years young! 👑💐

Dot had one special request for her birthday, to have a party, so of course, we had to make it happen!

She was surrounded by her daughter, friends and members of our team, who all came together to make the day extra special. There was plenty of lovely food, refreshments and, of course, a beautiful birthday cake lovingly made by Dot’s daughter, Pat. 🎂❤️

It was a real honour to celebrate such a wonderful milestone with Dot and to share in such a memorable day.
