Stef from our Home Support Team was recently presented flowers and a heart felt thank you for going above and beyond in her work. Here is what Home Support Manager, Beth Ward has to say:

"Stef went above and beyond for our member ensuring she had extra support in place, going back to check on a voluntary basis and communicating effectively with family to ensure peace of mind. She didn’t rest until she was sure her member was safe within her home. The Family had a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to our office to show their appreciation. Thank you Stef for having such a caring heart and going that extra mile"

It's moments like these that make all at Evergreen so proud of our wonderful staff and all that they do to make sure older members of are community are listened to, cared for and protected no matter what.

Last week, Evergreen said a heartfelt goodbye to Susanna Aldred, our much‑loved Chaplaincy Lead. Susannah has been a steady and compassionate pillar of the Evergreen family, offering chaplaincy, guidance and unwavering support to our staff, volunteers and members.

We extend our deepest thanks for her years of dedication, kindness and care, and we wish her every happiness as she begins her well‑earned retirement 💐

Yesterday, our Stroll Down Memory Lane exhibition opened at St John’s Church as part of our celebrations. We were delighted to bring together our Friends Together Group — whose creativity helped shape this display — alongside friends and community members from across the town 🎨

This exhibition shines a light on their voices, placing them proudly back on the high street, and showcases the creative skills developed through our workshops over the past few months.

Thank you to & Stamford Sound for visiting yesterdays opening and to all of the high street shops participating in our art trail.

If you want to take a look at our exhibition, It will be open at St John's Church until Sunday at 5pm.

After months of crafting, drawing, collaging and poetry‑making, our Friends Together Group are finally ready for the big moment — the launch of our Stroll Down Memory Lane exhibition!

This project has been all about encouraging older members of our community to rediscover new and forgotten creative skills, while placing their voices right back at the heart of Stamford.

Our displays will be up Wednesday 2pm – Sunday 4pm, and we’d love you to join us tomorrow from 2–4pm for an afternoon of cake, cheer and the official opening.

A huge thank‑you to for helping us bring this special project to life.

At Evergreen, we’re proud to work alongside Second Helpings - Stamford to deliver free meals to older residents across Stamford and Ryhall. This support is offered to those who are housebound or feeling isolated, bringing fresh food and a friendly check‑in straight to their doorstep.

Teamwork like this helps transform lives 👏

Food has always been about more than eating. It’s about people, connection, and community.

That’s why we’re proud to work with organisations like Evergreen Care Trust, Inspire+ and Mindspace to support people beyond our doors.

From home meal deliveries and children’s holiday food programmes to cooking courses that bring people together, we’re passionate about making a difference where we can.

Because food is just the start.

🎨 Our Town‑Wide Art Exhibition Launches Next Week!

We’re so excited to be bringing older people’s voices right into the heart of Stamford through a brand‑new art exhibition created in collaboration with Age Without Limits. Join us at St John’s Church on Wednesday 10th June, 2pm–4pm, for our launch event — complete with a short talk about the artwork, plus tea, coffee and friendly faces.

Throughout June, you’ll also spot artwork and poems created by our Friends Together Group displayed across high‑street shops and community spaces. This project celebrates creativity, connection and the vibrant stories of older people in our community — and we’d love you to be part of it.

As we wrap up Volunteers’ Week, we want to say the biggest thank‑you to all of our Evergreen volunteers!

As Ed shared at our Celebration BBQ, “volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary things.” And it’s true — every year we see the dedication, joy and connection our volunteers bring to older people across our community. Their time, kindness and perseverance keep Evergreen thriving, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they do.

💚 If you’re looking to do something extraordinary, we’d love you to join our Evergreen family.

We have a wide range of volunteer roles — from befriending, meal delivery, events, gardening, cleaning support, admin and office roles and so much more.

Help be part of something extraordinary — and help us continue building a community where older people feel connected, valued and never alone.
