This month come and walk the streets of Stamford to discover the medicinal and edible plants that grown in pavement cracks, in our urban green spaces and where you'll wander past them each day without realising their amazing potential!!

Only 3 spaces left on the afternoon making session, where we'll be making a beautiful fresh plant infused glycerite- a wonderful cooling and calming remedy for the hot days of summer or moments of chaos and overwhelm!!

We can't wait to see you at our allotment on Thursday 11th June between 11-1.

🌟 Herb Club for Grown Ups!

Join me this Summer Solstice weekend for an urban forage in Stamford, we'll walk slowly, noticing whats growing in the cracks, on the kerbs and the green spaces - be amazed as we discover magical medicine growing right beneath our feet!

Afterwards join me for a relaxed session with like minded people to make your own medicine that you can take home with you! This month we'll make a herbal glycerite with seasonal herbs!

Horse Chestnuts are not just noticable for their conkers! Have you noticed their beautiful flowers too?

Stamford is adorned with Horse Chestnut trees and are in bloom right now! There's white chestnut flowers and red chestnut flowers, and in the magical world of Bach Flower Remedies (you know, the yellow bottle of Rescue Remedy!) these two hold different uses.

They are such beautiful little flowers, slow down and take notice whilst they're still in bloom!!

It's here!!!

Elderflowers are out! Harvest on a sunny day when the flowers are dry and their powdery pollen wafts in the air as you pick!

I've seen some adverts for elderflower pickers to collect for a well known brand in return for payment - and I've seen the pickers picking - not mindfully, not respecting the plant - colleting sooooo much that there's not enough left for the enjoyment of others, for the pollinators and certainly not giving the elder to chance to offer her medicinal berries in late summer.

So please harvest and enjoy, but for your own personal delight! You can make a much more delicious cordial yourself, and save yourself a few pennies in the process, at the same time connecting with the old ways of gathering and making our own foods and medicines!!

Remember to discard the leaves and stems during cooking as they are toxic
