I promise you, your hairy legs are safe with me. š
Something I notice often during massage sessions is how difficult it is for people to stop āmanagingā themselves.
Apologising for unshaved legs. (Only women)
For body hair.
For their stomach rumbling.
For snoring or even falling asleep.
For not being able to switch off straight away.
Trying to lift their own arms or hold up their legs to āhelp meā.
Staying slightly alert, even while receiving care, just in case there will be something enquired from them.
And I understand it deeply, because most of us have spent our whole lives learning how to make ourselves convenient for others.
Easy. Pleasant. Low maintenance.
I sometimes feel emotional - noticing how much some of you have been carrying, how you been training yourself to be smaller, always ready to help others, always ready to do more for others. And even here - when finally you have found time for yourself, you want to help me. You want to be an easy client.
But your body is not an inconvenience here.
You do not need to perform wellness for me.
You do not need to arrive polished, graceful, silent, or relaxed already.
You are allowed to be tired.
Heavy.
Awkward.
Human.
Emotional.
Vulnerable.
You are allowed to simply lie down and let your body be held for a while. I know- relaxing might not be easy at first.
And if letting go takes time ā thatās okay too.
Nothing is expected from you here š¤
See you here - at HELD! šæ
