GP checked, benign, and removed in one visit, here’s exactly what that looked like.

This lesion had already been given the all clear before it ever met me, my job only starts once something’s confirmed safe to treat. This client came to me with a wart growing right on top of his tattoo, throwing off the whole design.

In just one treatment, it’s gone, and the tattoo is completely intact.

Shrinking the spot size increases fluence, which is the energy density hitting the ink. That’s sometimes necessary to fracture dense, stubborn pigment that isn’t responding. But a smaller spot size also concentrates more of that energy near the surface, right where those capillaries sit, which is why pinpoint bleeding becomes more likely as the spot size comes down.

So my goal is always to stay as large as possible, for as long as possible, and only shrink down when the ink genuinely demands it. Pinpoint bleeding is never something I’m aiming for, but sometimes it’s the unavoidable trade off of properly clearing resistant ink instead of leaving it undertreated.

Laser tattoo removal is a journey, not a sprint, and this is exactly why. Results like this happen because I take my time, use the right energies, and give the skin proper time to heal between sessions. No shortcuts, no compromising your skin for a quicker “before and after.”

Here’s why. Laser tattoo removal works by targeting pigment particles with specific wavelengths of light, and the pigment absorbs that energy and shatters into tiny pieces your body clears away naturally. Darker pigments like black and brown absorb those wavelengths really well. Yellow doesn’t. It reflects far more light than it absorbs, so the laser essentially can’t “see” it the same way, which means it’s much more resistant to breaking down.

The good news, this stage is temporary and very manageable. If you’re getting your semi permanent makeup topped up, that yellow undertone is easy for your artist to cover and correct. And if you decide to leave your brows natural, that pigment will keep fading on its own over time.

So if you’re mid removal and staring at yellow brows in the mirror, you’re not stuck, you’re just in a normal phase of the process.

Brow tattoo regret? I’ve got you.

Laser removal is one of my favourite treatments to do, and yes, it usually takes a few sessions for the pigment to fade. But every now and then, the ink lifts clean out of the skin right in front of me, which never gets old to watch.

We leave two months between sessions, giving your lymphatic system time to actually clear the broken down pigment. Rushing it just means working against your own body.

CryoPen takes a different approach: it uses nitrous oxide to freeze the tag. Over the following days, the tissue goes necrotic, meaning it darkens, dries out, and eventually falls away on its own. It’s a bit more of a process, but it’s a wonderful, gentle alternative for clients who aren’t suitable candidates for electrocautery.

Both methods are safe, both are effective. The right one just depends on you and your skin.

Faded enough for a cover up? Good. Now don’t blow it. A rushed cover up is just tomorrow’s laser session in disguise. Take your time, fall in love with the design, get it right the first time. Because removing a cover up over a cover up is not the glow up you want, trust me.

Every hair on your body cycles through 3 phases: growing, transitioning, and resting. Laser only works during the growing phase — that’s when melanin creates a straight, unbroken path down to the stem cells that regrow the hair.

Once a hair moves out of that phase, a gap opens up between the hair and the root. The laser can still hit the hair itself, but the heat has nowhere left to go, so it can’t disable the follicle.

That’s not a flaw in the treatment — it’s exactly why multiple sessions are built into the process. Each visit catches a new batch of hairs while they’re still “awake” and connected.
