Hot flushes and night sweats are among the most common symptoms of menopause.
Around 80% of women experience hot flushes during perimenopause or menopause. As oestrogen levels decline, the body can become more sensitive to changes in temperature, leading to sudden feelings of intense heat, flushing, sweating and sometimes chills.
Around three-quarters of women also experience night sweats, which can interrupt sleep and leave you feeling exhausted.
Alongside lifestyle changes and advice from your GP, many women choose reflexology as part of their self-care routine. By encouraging deep relaxation and helping to calm the nervous system, reflexology may support overall wellbeing during menopause. Recent research has also suggested it may help reduce the frequency of night sweats for some women.
Every menopause journey is different, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
