Myth Busting: Willow Health Peer Support Group 🌿
Willow Health’s women’s peer support group is a welcoming, safe space to share experiences, pick up practical tips, ask questions and find emotional support.
🤔 Myth: I need an appointment with Willow Health to attend.
✅ Fact: You don’t! Our peer support group is open to everyone, and you don’t need an appointment at Willow Health to join us.
🤔 Myth: Peer support groups are only for certain ages or types of women.
✅ Fact: Our peer support group is for women who relate to the experience and want to connect with others.
🤔 Myth: I have to share my story.
✅ Fact: Absolutely not. Participation is completely voluntary. You can simply listen, learn and take in whatever feels helpful for you.
🤔 Myth: Attending a peer support group shows vulnerability.
✅ Fact: It takes strength to reach out, connect with others and ask for support.
🤔 Myth: Peer support groups are only for people with severe problems.
✅ Fact: Not at all! Our peer support group is for any woman looking for connection, shared experiences, practical tips or a friendly listening ear.
🤔 Myth: A peer support group is the same as therapy.
✅ Fact: Peer support is different. It’s centred around shared experiences, understanding and learning from one another, with support from people who genuinely understand.
🤔 Myth: I need to attend every meeting.
✅ Fact: Not at all! Come along as often, or as little, as works for you. There’s no pressure and no commitment.
