World Ocean Day is a day dedicated to recognizing how important the ocean is to life on Earth and encouraging people, communities, businesses, and governments to protect it. The ocean provides food, helps regulate the climate, produces much of the oxygen we breathe, and supports countless species of plants and animals.
One of the key messages of World Ocean Day is that everyday actions on land can affect the ocean. A major example is plastic pollution. Plastic waste discarded in streets, parks, and rivers can be carried by wind and water into the sea, where it can harm marine life and ecosystems.
By supporting small businesses that use recycled plastics or reclaimed from the ocean you are helping to keep our oceans cleaner and safer for all of us. Each of these products are made from recycled plastics found in our oceans and nets or material that would have otherwise have made it to landfill and the ocean 🌊
