Iāve always been interested in the natural world, and hereās why:
I love history (although Iām not particularly good at it). I find it fascinating learning about the way people have lived, what theyāve relied on and what theyāve learnt from the world as it was then. I think we can utilise a lot of that and going back to basics would really help the humans we are today.
I love being outdoors. I love living in England and having proper seasons ā autumn is my fav :)
Iām also a complete homebody. Being at home, in England and around my family is genuinely one of my favourite things. I love reading too, disappearing into completely different worlds for a while.
And then there are the things that are actually around us every day.
Plants are everywhere. Theyāve been used by people for thousands of years, and some of them have so many fascinating properties. I find it amazing that so much of what we need to eat, learn about and make use of is quite literally growing around us.
And Iāve always loved animals. Itās amazing having a connection with another living thing when you canāt speak the same language. They have their own personalities, feelings and ways of communicating, and somehow they often seem much kinder than we are.. again, I think we could learn a lot from them..
I think all of these things are probably why Iāve ended up so interested in nutrition, herbalism and the natural world.
My work has always been about more than food and nutrition. Itās about understanding where our nourishment comes from, learning from whatās around us and finding ways to bring some of that into everyday life.
Iāve gone on a rampage but I think I needed to express my way of working and why I have the philosophy I do, I think the human race today has over complicated a lot of things and we need to take things right back to basicsš«¶
