Some places change you. Kenya was one of those places for me. 🇰🇪❤️
This October, I’m going back.
There are some experiences that have stayed with me long after I've come home.
The women who travelled for hours for the chance to receive healthcare. The children waiting patiently to be seen. The singing, the laughter and the incredible warmth of people living with so little.
And the girls whose lives have been changed, or are at risk, because of female ge***al mutilation.
I have never forgotten them.
This October I have the privilege of returning with the Divinity Foundation, travelling into remote communities to provide free healthcare, osteopathic treatment, food, clothing and essential supplies to women and children with very limited access to these things.
On my previous trips, I quickly realised that what we offer goes far beyond treatment.
Sometimes there isn't a simple solution. Sometimes all I can offer is my hands, my time and my care. But simply being listened to, cared for and treated with dignity can mean an enormous amount.
The charity also works within Maasai communities to help protect girls at risk of FGM through education, healthcare and a rescue centre that gives girls the chance to be safe and have choices about their futures.
And that is why I want to go back.
I’m asking for your help to make this next trip possible.
Every donation, however small, will help us reach more communities and take healthcare and practical support to people who desperately need it.
I have seen with my own eyes where this help goes.
I have held the hands of the women it reaches.
And while we cannot help everyone, that doesn't make helping one person any less worthwhile.
A phrase from my last trip has never left me:
“It will never be enough, but it will never be too little.”
If you feel able to support my return to Kenya this October, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can't donate, please share my JustGiving page.
Thank you. ❤️
Iʼm raising money to help fund my humanitarian expedition to Kenya, so we can provide free healthcare to women and children living in poverty. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.
