Sun protection isn't just for holidays or hot summer days. It's one of the most important steps in looking after your skin all year round.

Our facial skin is much more delicate than the skin on the rest of our body, so it's worth choosing a sunscreen that has been designed specifically for the face. A product that's perfect for your arms and legs may not always be the best choice for your complexion.

One of my favourites is Heliocare SPF50. It offers advanced, lightweight protection and feels comfortable enough to wear every day.

The best sunscreen is the one that you'll enjoy wearing, which is why I always encourage my clients to try before they buy. At the clinic, you're welcome to test a selection of 5–6 different facial sunscreens to see which one suits your skin best.

If you're still unsure, I can also provide small samples for you to take home and try in your own routine. Finding the right sunscreen is a personal choice, and I'm always happy to help you find the one that's right for you.

Today's image shows how well the advanced cosmetic procedure, electrolysis, works for skin tag removal and other types of skin blemishes.

This treatment is a non-invasive, safe, and effective method for skin blemish removal that utilizes electrolysis (heat) to target and damage specific cells. The treatment involves an advanced machine that delivers an electrical current through a probe, allowing it to cauterize the blemish and enabling removal without surgery.

Advanced electrolysis treatment is favoured because it doesn’t leave marks or scars and is considered safer than other treatments like cryotherapy, excision, or surgery. A blemish treated with treatment is unlikely to reoccur. In most cases of skin blemish removal, one to two treatments are sufficient; however, certain conditions like xanthelasma or specific types of warts may require additional sessions.

After treatment, the blemish will gradually fade, and there is minimal downtime involved. You may experience slight reddening or swelling, warmth in the treated area, and itchiness during the healing process. It’s essential to follow the post-treatment recommendations that I give you at the clinic.

Before proceeding with any skin lesion removal, including tags, moles, or any growth tissue, you will need to obtain a written consent letter from a qualified UK licensed medical doctor confirming that the lesion is non-cancerous. If you’re having difficulty seeing your local doctor, I can help as I offer a lesion check service with our online dermatologist.
