Being grounded I feel safe, present, and connected to my body.

Grounded does not mean emotionless. It means your body no longer feels like it has to brace against so many moments in life.

It gives me the ability to stay connected to myself, while life is happening around me.

To be able to breathe deeper. To soften your shoulders. To feel present in your own body again, while it balances the body's natural electrical state, regulates stress hormones and promotes deeper more restorative sleep, while also reducing chronic inflammation.

While so many people are living in constant survival mode without realizing how much tension, overthinking, exhaustion, and hypervigilance they are carrying every day.

Healing is not becoming someone else. It is creating enough safety within your nervous system that you can finally feel like yourself again.

Yoga is so much more than touching your toes, deeper backbends, inversions, and it's sad to see it's being labeled to just a workout in many ways and parts of the world.

Yoga is a constant companion that can guide us through the ups and downs of life and remind us that sometimes the biggest transformation isn't in the body, it's in the mind.

Yoga is the ancient practice of uniting the mind, body, and spirit to achieve inner peace, self-awareness, and ultimate liberation.

A memory popped up from 5 years ago during lock down, when we had to close the main yoga studio and open up my garden for outdoor classes in a marque.

It was such a dreadful time for most people, but I must admit that for our Soul Yoga family, it was a time of deep connection, a time when deeper friendships were made with everyone in the classes, where we all got to know ourselves and others on a deeper level and appreciate the things in life that we did have.

We made the most of what we had and what we could do. Putting up beautiful cheerful fabrics, mirror balls and lighting, making it a haven for those who felt trapped in their own homes.

I am so proud of those times and grateful to those who came and kept Soul Yoga going through those couple of years 🙏💫

One of the biggest problems in modern yoga is comparison. Social media often makes people believe that yoga is about handstands, deep backbends, and advanced poses.

As a result, many students compare their bodies and abilities to others and feel that they are not "good enough" at yoga.
The reality is that yoga was never meant to be a competition.

The ancient teachings of yoga focus on self-awareness, inner peace, and personal growth not on who can touch their toes or perform the most difficult posture.
Every body is different, and every practitioner has a unique journey.

True yoga begins when we stop comparing ourselves to others and start listening to our own bodies.
The goal is not to become better than someone else; the goal is to become more connected with yourself.

When comparison ends, yoga becomes a practice of acceptance, freedom, and self-discovery.
