PACTStockport Stockport's Offical Parent Carer Forum - Working in partnership to shape better services for children and young people disabilities & additional needs 0-25yrs

A strong voice of parents and carers is at the Heart of Stockport's delivery of services for children, young people with disabilities and additional needs and their families.

• We will be a forum for the views of parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs on Stockport's SEND service provision.

• We will ask parents and carers of children and young peop

le with disabilities and additional needs for their opinions. We will speak with a single voice for them.

• We will make parents and carers more confident as representatives. Enabling them to go on to then improve Stockport's services for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs

• We will work in partnership with Stockport Education, Health, Social Care and all other organisations in Stockport. Together we will Design, Develop and shape services which better meet the needs of children, young people and families better.

• We will provide information to parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. This information will empower parent carers and help them to make better use of Stockport's services.

Woohoo! We’ve got something new for this year’s The PDA Space Summit!

….For the first time, we’re bringing a fully LIVE element to the Summit.

On Thursday 1 October, before the 27 pre recorded webinars begin, you can join us live on Zoom to listen to two panel conversations bringing together some of our brilliant Summit speakers and voices from across the PDA community.

From 11am to 1pm UK time, we’ll be exploring two really important topics:

11:00–11:55
Understanding PDA: Why Recognition Matters

12:05–13:00
PDA in Practice: What Meaningful Support Looks Like

I’ll be hosting, with Duncan Casburn from PDA Dad UK
facilitating both panels and guiding the conversations between our speakers.

And it has been AMAZING to see people already booking since the tickets went live!

📌
We do have limited spaces available for the live Zoom event, so if you’d love to listen to these conversations as they happen, you can book your place now.

📌

Family tickets £4.20

Join us for an online webinar introducing the range of support, resources and opportunities available through the Stockport Neurodevelopmental (ND) Hub.

The ND Hub has been developed to provide a needs-led offer for children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences, including autism and ADHD, whether they have a diagnosis or are awaiting assessment

https://padlet.com/autismprogrammestockport/stockport-nd-hub-offer-1s5foqizsss432y7

During the session, we will guide parents and carers through the ND Hub Padlet and highlight the many resources available, including:
* Autism Central peer support, education sessions and resources
* Sensory Toolkits and sensory workshops
* Young Person Neurodevelopmental (YP NP) Tools
* Parent and carer support groups
* Information and advice sessions
* Training and workshops on topics such as anxiety, sleep, sensory processing and distressed behaviour
* Links to local and national support services, community groups and SEND information.

The webinar is designed to help families understand what support is available, how to access it and which resources may be most relevant to their child and family. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the services and resources discussed.

Please note: This is an information webinar rather than a drop-in session. The focus will be on exploring the ND Hub offer and supporting families to navigate available resources, rather than discussing individual children's needs

Who is it for?
Parents and carers of children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs, including autism and ADHD.

IT’S HERE!! The very first SEND Dads meet up! Stick it in your diaries.

We will meet at Bobby and my FAVOURITE cafe. are absolutely amazing with Bobby and he loves a good toasted tcake and an apple juice from them so I thought it’s only fitting that the first SEND dads meet up begins here.

From there we will then go on a walk and talk around the gorgeous poynton pool. The walk will be around 5k. I thought a walk as the first activity would be a good way to kick things off and get everyone to meet each other properly.

After the walk we will head back into poynton and if anyone wants to stick around we could go for a pint.

Sound good? If you’re interested DM me and also join the WhatsApp community. The link for this is in the bio. Just click that and it’ll take you to the WhatsApp page.

So excited for this! 🫶
