When you have excess fluid it can be really uncomfortable.

My lymphatic drainage massage is just the thing to find some relief. One of my clients recommended this treatment in a Facebook group.

This is what she had to say:

"Simone from Mckenzie Remedial Massage treated me to a lymphatic drainage massage yesterday. I was 10 days postpartum after a c section suffering with awful oedema of the feet & ankles and I’ve woken up this morning a new woman who can see her pre partum feet again. THANKYOU I shall see you again next week 💗"

If this could help you, jut drop me a message to arrange an appointment.

My Indian Head Massage feels amazing and has some excellent therapeutic effects. Things like reducing jaw pain and preventing migraines and headaches, improving your sleep and relieving night time restlessness and insomnia as well as stimulating endorphins which in turn reduces stress, anxiety and mental tiredness.

This massage is included in one of my pamper sessions and is paired perfectly with my Thai Foot massage. Each session lasts a blissful 90 minutes and costs just £80.

Cupping therapy is something I use with clients to treat pain, relieve muscle tension, break down any scar tissue deep within muscles and connective tissues and increase blood circulation.

By increasing blood flow, the process of cupping promotes cell repair in the body. It also helps to form new connective tissues and new blood vessels.

The suction will feel tight at first (but not painful) while it draws your skin up into the cup. That sensation passes quickly as the next cup is applied.

Many people experience reduced shoulder and back pain after cupping therapy.

If you are stressed, anxious or depressed then cupping may help you as it induces a deep state of relaxation which is beneficial to both your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Sharing before and after images today of my natural facelift facial massage. Can you see how the lines around the eyes have faded?

My natural facelift facial massage also aids in the reduction of tension induced sinus problems, headaches and eye strain. It promotes overall relaxation in the facial muscles and increased alertness for the mind.

It goes much further than being simply “non-invasive” and is natural in every sense of the word – no needles, no machines, no electric appliances pulsing over your face, no high-tech gels and serums.

Plus your neck and shoulders are also massaged as part of the treatment to reduce muscle tension.

Here are the key benefits:
✅Removes toxins from the face due to the lymphatic drainage
✅Prevents and reduces facial lines and wrinkles and helps to minimise the ageing process by encouraging a youthful appearance
✅Strengthens and tones the muscles of your face
✅Reduces stress,
✅Relieves insomnia, headaches and eye strain
✅Enhances physical and mental relaxation
✅Helps prevent facial sagging
Balances the energy of your whole body promoting over all wellbeing

I think the images show you what can be achieved in this treatment. Message me to book or find out more.

My beautiful, calm and relaxing clinic room. Where chaos ends and relaxation begins.

I love my space. I purposely chose the colour purple, more specifically lavender for it's calming effects.

In chromotherapy, lavender is a colour that represents the meditative mind. It can be used to calm the nervous system, invoke spiritual discovery, and promote harmony.

It is associated with the crown chakra, located just above the head. It is often considered a very spiritual colour. Purple is associated with knowledge and higher consciousness.

Come and join me, escape for a while and relax with a massage.

Will you use massage to help reach your fitness goals?

Remedial massage , reduces fluid retention, improves blood flow and helps rid the body of toxins.

Improving blood flow with remedial massage reduces swelling, muscle soreness and stiffness which makes it easier to stick to an exercise routine.

You will also find regular massages reduce your cortisol levels, (a stress hormone). Lower cortisol levels stop an increase of hunger and abdominal fat storage.

And then there is sleep. A big part of being fit and well is getting a good night's sleep and massage definitely helps with that.

These are just some of the ways regular massage sessions can help with your fitness goals.

Have you been told to sleep sitting up after surgery?

If you have, you'll probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

Your scar might be healing well, but suddenly your ribs, neck or shoulders start aching from the awkward sleeping position. Your tummy still feels swollen or numb, and you wonder if it's all part of the process.

These are some of the most common things my post-surgery clients tell me.

The good news is that, from around 7 days after surgery (providing your surgeon is happy with your recovery), Manual Lymphatic Drainage can often help.

It isn't a deep massage and it doesn't involve pressing on your scar. The treatment uses very gentle, light movements to encourage your lymphatic system to move excess fluid away from the area.

Many clients find this helps to:
• Reduce swelling
• Ease feelings of tightness and heaviness
• Improve comfort as they move around
• Relieve some of the aches that come from protecting the surgical area and sleeping in unfamiliar positions

Every recovery is different, which is why treatment is always tailored to how you're healing and how you're feeling on the day.

If you're around a week after surgery and you're feeling swollen, uncomfortable or wondering whether what you're experiencing is normal, please get in touch. I'd be happy to talk through whether Manual Lymphatic Drainage is the right next step for you.
