The coaching and training approach is athlete centred and is focused on developing fundamental movement skills and technique across eight different events.This is achieved through variety, in a constructive, organised, progressive manner, within a FUN, encouraging and positive environment. Running, Jumping and Throwing are the foun

dations on which all Sport is dependent.Therefore, if you see yourself as the next Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah, Robin Van Persie or Andy Murray – a multi-event Athletics approach will help you with your overall development requirements and sporting ambitions. If, however, the aim is to keep fit & healthy; have some fun; be part of a training group and make new friends, then our group offers this as well. Everyone is welcome.

Combined Events Classic Open, Trafford AC: Day 1

Incredibly Proud of my Training Group and the numerous achievements I was privileged to witness today at the above Competition.

Jack was really committed to all 4 of his Quadrathlon events, including a great PB in Shot put and a fabulous run in the 600m, that contributed to a Silver medal in the U12 Boys Quadrathlon!

Violet has only been with the group for 12 months and today completed her first U14 Girls Pentathlon! In a very short period of time she has developed very rapidly across numerous events.

Zari is still an U12 but competed in the U14 Girls Pentathlon and gained absolutely fantastic experience for the next two years in that age group. Very Impressive!

Bessie is competing in her first Heptathlon and has 3 more events tomorrow. I was particularly pleased with her Javelin PB today as she has worked hard in training at this event and it paid off today in Competition!

Rowan & Arthur's PBs in 100m is a really good sign that their Power is improving all the time and they have 4 events left tomorrow to complete their Octathlon!

Looking forward to Day 2!

European Athletics Championships in Birmingham taking place in really hot conditions. This group has never cancelled a training session due to the weather. Acclimatisation from an early age, robustness & reslience from an early age, learning to deal with environmental issues..........great athlete & personal DEVELOPMENT!

See you at training this afternoon! Make sure your Process in dealing with hot training conditions is correct!

Great number of PBs being achieved at Trafford this afternoon which I am really pleased about and hope there is more to come. It is so great to see PBs being achieved across a wide range of events;

PBs in Long Jump for Ebube, Violet, Evelyn & Eadie.
PB in 75m for Will B
PB in 100m for Evelyn
PB in Discus for Robbie
PB in Javelin for Rowan
PB in High Jump for Arthur

Keep it going group! and we added 3 800m PBs thanks to Robbie, Violet & Evelyn!

Day 2 of the ESAA Combined Events School championships and Abbie & Flic completed their Heptathlons and Will Completed his first Octathlon! Achievements that should never be underestimated and one's that we should be very proud of. Will had two excellent PBs in Shot & High Jump and competed in 100m Hurdles and the 1500m for the first time! Flic had a storming 2nd day with PBs in all 3 events Long Jump, Javelin & 800m resulting in an excellent Heptathlon PB!

There is loads more to come from our young athletes dependent on how much they want to invest in the Sport and how well they can execute good PROCESS!

English SCHOOLS REGIONAL combined events Finals. The Group Proudly has 6 athletes competing at this regional competition. Flic, Abbie, Arthur and Will for Greater Manchester & Robbie & Rowan for Cheshire!

Very early on in the Competition but the following PBs have been achieved through improved Process:

Rowan PB in Hurdles & Shot and most importantly a massive Pentathlon PB!
Arthur PB in Shot & Long Jump and again most importantly a Pentathlon PB!
Robbie PB in Hurdles and 800m
Will PB in Long Jump & Javelin
Flic PB in Hurdles
Abbie PB in 200m

So incredibly Proud of this young group of developing athletes who continue to challenge themselves for all the right DEVELOPMENTAL reasons. We don't opt for the easy way out in this Group!!! Harry doing a great job of getting them to get the best out of themselves!

Finally, I would like to Congratulate Eadie for getting valuable experience, learning and development at the Northern Championships today!

Outcomes are very much dependent on good Process and as a group we measure success in many different ways. This weekend we had Ebube compete for the first time for her club; we had athletes competing for the first time in an event; we had 3 athletes selected to represent their County at the Mason Trophy......and we had an excellent Haul of 15 PBs across a wide range of events - 100m, 600m, 800m, LJ, Shot, Javelin & Discus........I cannot be more Proud of the Young people that I coach!

The ESAA Regional Combined events are coming up at the end of June and I am delighted with the following selections: Greater Manchester - Flic (Heptathlon), Will (Octathlon), Abbie (Heptathlon) & Arthur (Pentathlon) Cheshire - Rowan & Robbie (Pentathlon). So incredibly Proud of these young athletes who continue to not opt for the "easy option" but choose to challenge themselves across a number of different events and follow the Long Term Athlete Development Model advocated by UK Athletics.

From a Coaching perspective I am extremely Proud that our philosophy doesn't deny athletes any opportunities and that we operate in a Non-elitist manner.

Congratulations to Arthur & Rowan who, as Combined Eventers, represented their respective Counties, Greater Manchester & Cheshire, at the Intercounties yesterday. Both did 3 events each which included Long Jump, High Jump, Hurdles & Shot. Congratulations to them both........can there be any better way of recognising how they are being developed as athletes and young people! Development goes beyond athletics when you give yourself such opportunities! They got some media practice in as well!!!

Day 2 of the Greater Manchester & Cheshire T&F Championships:

Rowan has got us off to a great start and set the tone for the rest of the day with a Shot PB (Bronze medal)! Zari has followed up with a PB in her 150m Heat (2nd place)! and Robbie has picked up the Silver medal in the U14 Boys Shot put Competition! Arthur Bronze medalist in the U16 Boys hurdles! Gold Medal Zari in the U12 girls Javelin Competition!

Good PBs by William & Jack in the their U12 Boys 150m Heats ......and both in the Final! A Silver medal in the U16 Boys HJ from Arthur! Another PB by Tameca in the U12 Girls 150m! Tameca Picks up the Silver medal in the U12 Girls Long jump competition! Jack well deserved Bronze medal in the U12 Boys Javelin! Zari Gold medalist in the U12 Girls Long Jump Competition, William Silver medalist in the Boys Long Jump and Jack Bronze medalist with a good PB also in the U12 Boys Long Jump!

Robbie a PB & Gold medal in the U14 Boys Javelin & Rowan a PB & Silver medal in the U16 Boys Javelin event! Abbie Gold Medalist in the U16 Girls Long Jump! Arthur an U16 Boys Javelin PB! High Jump PB & Bronze medal for Robbie! Great to see Flic back competing this weekend and she picked up an U18 Girls silver & bronze medal in the Shot & Javelin. Finally, it is so nice for the group to have a Senior man competing as Harry picked up a Silver in the Javelin. A very popular member of our training group for many years now and I'm sure everyone will be extremely pleased for him!

A fabulous effort by all which sets us up for the rest of the season really well!
